Hi,
I had decided that i might as well rewire my fuel pump while the car is broke down.

I have already run the power wire, and have the pump unpluged.

The car when i bought it came with a kit from dsm motor sport.
i still have the reciept for it, $54

but i can't find the site for instructions to install it.

I have found other instructions on here for an install, but mine comes with a direct plug and play kit, once you splice in your wires.

it has 5 wires, green white blue black and red...

I can't for the life of me find info on where these are suppose to go.

any help would be greatly appriciated.

ive never heard of that company and i couldn't find their fp rewire kit posted anywhere on the net to see what it includes. heres the popular rewire how to at vfaq.com, see if it makes it a little easier for you. if not if you can get me a website or atleast pictures of the stuff included i can help you more...

2G DSM FWD Fuel Pump Rewire Instructions

:dsm:

You kit can't be that different from the VFAQ setup. It will just be some wiring, a few spade terminals (or you'll just solder), and a relay.

You use the stock wiring to trip the relay. You'll have one wiring going from the batter (fused) back to the relay, then to the fuel pump. You'll have a wire coming off the fuel pump to a ground.

Look a the VFAQ for the correct wires off the fuel pump.
2G AWD fuel pump install
That's the AWD version. The FWD and AWD have different fuel pump setups.

$54 is a rip-off for a rewire kit. I think my stuff cost me $20 total.

well mine is the awd, but the link you gave doesn't show the install of the rewire kit for the 2g awd,, it's just a fuel pump, and i didn't buy the kit. it came with the car.

The FWD and AWD have different fuel pump setups.
:heystupid: 95-99 FWD/AWD/SPYDER will all use the same instructions and hardware for the fp rewire, it says fwd because thats what the guys car is that did the rewire. believe me i did the rewire when my vehicle was a FWD and i converted it to a GSX and i did nothing to modify the way the FUEL PUMP was wired in.

if the kits confusing then use the link thats been posted on this thread twice now to go buy the correct hardware to do it. i pieced together my own kit using that link with the parts listed and did it for less then $20 and the install was 30 min max.

:dsm:

## the man!

and no the gsx and fwd are different as mine does have 5 wires. so dude above this post, you apparently didn't swap your entire wiring harness when you did the swap.

that link has given me what i needed to know. we will now see if i can do it in under 30 min,, LOL

i bet that swap was slightly costly.. i bought my car with all the parts for $6500 with only 1 owner and 80,000 miles. much cheaper...

im glad your question was answered and you understand how to do it now, i don't want to make this a "how do you..." thread thats just a bunch of :argue:
hopefully now you can get that fp rewired and your car back on the road.

i guess i still wasnt specific enough about the differences in the AWD/FWD fuel pump wiring. IT IS THE SAME. the harness going to it no, but the extra 3 wires you have there on the AWD have nothing to do with the fuel pump... there just there because of the extra sending unit since the AWD gas tank is shaped differently.
from the fwd fp rewire these are the only two wires going to the fp harness... these are still the only two wires you would cut to do the fp rewire on the AWD as well.
1. Thick blue/black wire is fuel pump power and is connected to the same wire on the 2 pin FWD fuel pump harness (mine was black with a blue stripe)
2. Thick black wire is the fuel pump ground and is connected to the same wire on the 2 pin FWD fuel pump harness (this wire is thicker than the thick black with blue stripe, power wire, but both are noticeably thicker than the last three)

3. Thin yellow/black wire is the sender feed to the second sender and is wired into the yellow/black coming from the other sender
4. Thin black wire is the sender ground and is wired into the ground wire on the FWD 3 pin sender harness
5. Thin yellow wire is the low gas light wire and is wired into the non-yellow wire on the FWD 3 pin sender harness

sorry for the confusion, i thought you would look at the FWD rewire and see that your AWD harness has the same two wires going to it and you'd figure it out...
thanks knochgoon24 for that specific AWD rewire, ill pocket the link so i can help GSX owners in the future asking this to prevent confusion.

and no, i still "made" my GSX for cheaper then you bought yours AND i was able to do a lot of stuff to it "while i was at it" I bought my automatic GST for $4000 with 71000 back in 2006... i got everything i needed to do the swap for $2000 and two and a half weeks later i had a manual GSX but it was my car that i had fallen in love with that i made AWD, not somebody elses. granted i did spend a few more bucks to get a ACT clutch/flywheel, b&m shifter, shifter bushings, RMDSM sway bars, 3"dp & 3" catback since i was already adding that stuff.
besides the cost of things my learning curve SKY ROCKETED and unless its something internal to the motor i feel comfortable that i can mcguyver my car if im stranded and get her home with just 10, 12, 14, & 16mm sockets. :D

again sorry i guess i confused you but the fp rewire for the fwd and awd are the same (as far as the wires you tap/cut) the harness just looks different. either way im glad we got you the info needed so you could get your fp rewired...
