fuel pump not coming on

k guys got a 1990 tsi that had a bad head so i replaced it and timing belt,it was also setting a few years like 2 years.i have spark but my fuel pump isn't coming on i also undid my fuel line to my fuel rail and tried to start the motor to see if any fuel is coming out and nothing i also drained the old gas from the tank and replaced it with high test but the old fuel is still in the lines i need to figure how to get it all out so i don't gas foul my plugs.i have another question too what position do i put the CAS do i center it between the two slot or what ty guys hurry with the answers i'm so close to hearing it run ty

remove line from fuel tank and rail..then shoot compresse air in it.

.best advice is check the fuses first..cheap things first

all the fuses were good as well forgot to put that on the post ything else?

It's located close to your ecu. As for testing it, I'm not sure. I think you can just listen to see if it clicks. I just had a spare and replaced mine and it fixed the problem. I was having the same symptoms as you.

..not needed..its one of the three on the positive battery termanal. that the fuse..iam not sure about the relay

That's not the relay. That's actually a fuse. The relay is a gold box located in the center console close to the ecu/behind the radio.

ok cool ty guys first thing in the morning i'm gonna barrow a test light and do a voltage drop test and trace the voltage from the mpi to the fuel pump is there a wa to manually wire the fp to see if its not locked up?if its not then my prob could be mpi or ecu correct?

Jump the fuel pump. Just put 12v to the pump itself. If the pump doesn't come on your pump is shot, if it comes on start shooting power from the plug back.

any idea what wire/color i jump the 12v to? ty guys ## awesome

i also have another question say my pump does work can i use a toggle switch and manually use my pump turning it off when i turn off my car?

there's should be only two wires going to your pump, a black and a red. Black to ground red to power. Yes you can jump your pump to a switch I wouldn't recommend it though.

ok got back to my fuel pump wires and there are four of them.yellow with blue stripe,black with white stripe,straight yellow and a straight black wire.what two are for the fuel pump only? i assume the other 2 are for the sending unit

try jumping off the 2 wires from the actual fuel pump

just did the pump id screwed it was horribly corroded with age from setting well ty guys for everything guess i'm gonna get a pump since i plan on upgrading the car i'm going to go with a ebay walbro 190LPH good idea or no?
