fuel pressure .. help

I setup my fuel pressure at 43psi ( right after i turned on my car) . It was idling for 5 minutes and stayed like that, but after driving my car for 30min my pressure droped to 30psi on the idle. What to do, am i loosing fuel pressure or what

1) Set your fuel pressure with the vac line off. Check the stock value, and bump it up a bit if you want a little safety, if you're running high boost.
2) Reattach the vac line.
3) Fuel pressure will vary depending on if you're boosting or not, and I believe if the car is warmed up or not.


(Anyone know the stock 2G fuel pressure? I know that 1Gs are supposed to be at 36-38 with vac off)

so when i have to set my fuel pressure, when my car is not warm or after driving for 30min

With the vac line off. It shouldn't matter if it's cold or has been running for a while, so long as you pull the vac before setting it. Note, it WILL drop once the vac is back on, this is normal. :b

i know that , mine it drops for about 7psi . But ral problem is after driving my car fro some time pressure drops for about 12 psi

From what I've gathered your guage readings may vary from liquid to non-liquid and even under hood temps. may affect them. When i set my base pressure, I always do it when the engine is fully warm and @ normal idle.

Yeah 2G fuel pressure = 43 psi.
You did set the fuel pressure with the vac line unplugged, right? Once you plug it back in, it should drop about 4-5 PSI. That is completely normal.

A glycerine filled (liquid filled) gauge is just to supress engine vibration instead of transferring that vibration through the fragile components of the gauge. It keeps things like the gauge needles from breaking and falling off. The liquid should never affect the readings of the gauge.

hmmm..... What fuel pressure regulator are you using?
