Ok so here is my plans on my 2g AWD, I'm replacing the fuel lines using russell proclassic, -8an feed and -6an return, running a single 300lph pump intank for now (bosch 044 later inline).

Couple issues I have came across was if AN fittings can be fitted to the stock sending unit, or what modifications have to be done to make it work.

The other issue I'm stumped on after realizing that there is also another sending unit on the other side of the gas tank, duh!! Do I need to replace the line that runs between the two sending units also? I guess I do not fully understand the whole return system on my car. I understand that the pump pulls fuel from both sides of the "saddles" through a siphoning system, but I need to get this figured out soon so I can get my car put back together, help me out please, thanks in advance:aha:

Would that be done in the same manner as just the feed line as well? I was thinking of possibly doing the same thing but... didn't know how well it would work on the return since the line is much smaller on the inside (compared to the feed).

Unfortunately I didn't do the fabricating but from looking down into both fittings the openings appear to be same size and from looking underneath at the hardlines themselves they are the same size so I'll say yes the return line on top can be removed and a fitting can be welded on in the same manner as the feed line. You say the return line is much smaller on the inside than the feed line's inside? I just looked at pictures of my assembly when it was stock and it appears that both lines are the same size from top to bottom and the EGR hardline is the one that is thinner.

I was referring to the part where the fuel pump goes up into the fitting section, sorry for the confusion. Thank you, though, for the quick reply.

Oh that's not a problem at all. Here is what it looks like with a Walbro 400 installed:

I was using this assembly with the Walbro 400 in it as you see it here before the AN fittings were installed with no issue.

Just had these two 8AN fittings welded on in place of the stock hardlines a few days ago. Sandblasting and coating will be done later. I've been running a Walbro 400 in this assembly.

i did mine very similar i used -8 supply and -6 return but am wondering what to do with the rubber line that runs to the other side of the tank. i removed my return lines months ago does any one have any idea where i can find a diagram of the stock fuel system? I ran my -6 return into what i thought was the return but i am thinking not it is where the rubber line that leads to the other side of the tank normally went? any ideas of how i can solve this problem? i will include a picture.

The line you're holding goes to the smaller AN line you have fitted, the rubber line that's currently attached was originally your return line; the feed is the only one in the correct location.

Pink - feed
Green - return
Yellow - transfer
