I had my car on, not running, and the fuel pump was running. I heard a hissing near the fuel rail / injectors, and thought maybe it could be an injector stuck open? My car has idle surge, and everything has checked out fine so far.

When I have my car off and the fuel pump running (either the check connector or via the datalogger) you can clearly hear the fuel flowing out the return port on the fuel pressure regulator.

If you had an injector stuck open your mileage would suck and the car would run poorly to start with.

Yeah ^^^

You would definitely know if an injector was stuck open. You'd be fouling spark plugs like no tomorrow, I would imagine.
I'm sure what you heard was just fuel going through the FPR return.

I don't know how a stuck injector could do too much re: idle surge without any other symptoms being present...

It would definately not be an injector stuck open cause the car would really run like crap. But you can easily check them if you want. Start the car, then take a piece of wood(a dowel works best) or a stethoscope and put it on the injector just below the connector. Put your ear to the other end and the wood should transfer the noise and you will hear the injector clicking open and closed. Also, this trick works great for listening for bearing problems in things like water pumps.:thumb:
