Hey guys,

I checked out my fuel injectors yesterday, and the rubber tip of two of them is broken. I was considering a fuel injector upgrade, but I heard that i'd have to upgrade/update my ECU. Is this true? How does this work?

I was also considering a fuel pump, but not sure which pump to get.

What else should I get while I'm working in the FUEL department? Any recommendations?

So I have been reading this thread wondering how big is to big of an injector and is it okay to go bigger with an aftermarket regulator and not freak out the computer? So I have an A1000 Aeromotive regulator. I think this is consistent with this thread so I'm not trying to thread jack. :D

Depends on what you plan to tune with.

If an SAFC, then you're limited to about 660cc injectors. If you go with a higher end option such as ECMlink, AEM EMS, Jackal, Evo 8/9 ECU, reflashed late 2g ECU, etc. you can run whatever size you would like. (Note - I have no idea what car you have, so some of those options may not apply to you.)

The regulator has nothing to do with the ECU.

I have a 1990 TSI AWD. I thought bigger injectors would cause too much back pressure with a regular regulator and the aftermarket one would help. I do have an ECMlink, but for some reason when I try to hook it up to the lap top it would say the port is still open and I know this sounds like an over kill, but could I run 2000cc injectors without a problem? ROFL

But! Could I run 2000cc injectors with an A1000 aeromotive regulator? Or do I still need to use the ECM link to get this 1g running the right way?
