Fuel Gauge Not Reaching Bottom

My fuel gauge will only go down about 3/4ths of the way before it stops. The low fuel light still functions however and will come on before I run out of gas. The previous owner said it had been doing that a while before I bought it and had no idea what the problem could be. Any idea on what could be causing this?

He probably effed up the needle (or gauge) when installing the indiglos. You _might_ be able to repair it by putting the needle back on its post in the proper position.

thats the same thing that happen in my 96-gst when i installed indglos and tap the needle a bit. the gas was off by a bit. not sure if its a fix for it. i just left it like it was.
