Hi. I recently did some mods to my gauges, the result was pretty, but i must have accidently "bumped" into the fuel needle while installing, and now the the needle wont move above the 1/4 mark. Iv'e tried to disconnect the connector to the fuel tank, and the needle moves downwards and up again to 1/4 tank when reconnected. I filled full tank, but the needle still stands still! :banghead:

Do anyone have suggestion to fix this?

can i for example move the needle???

got some pictures of the mod:

the other needle on the same gauge is just fine, so it cant be that, and i didnt bend the needle in any way, i accidently moved it a little, nothing should hinder the movement either

If it worked before and now it doesn't, we can assume that the problem was caused by the install. Re-trace your steps to rule out everything you can.

I would still check it to be on the safe side. :thumb:

Maybe the sending unit float ironically became stuck at the same time you installed the white face gauges.

I had the same issue when i did my gauges. To reset it, take it back apart and just install the cluster itself (no face plate). Take the needle in question back off, start the car, and put the needle back into the proper position. I had to do all of my needles this way after my gauge mod.

i agree with dj raydiate i had same problem and fixed the same way with key on gauge post should go where it belongs if you topped off tank putting needle on with key on an/or running should fix it

So I have those exact gauges. I've had them for I think 13 years. For 13 years since I installed them my fuel gauge would go to the top when full, but then barely move downwards after a few millimeters. For years I thought it was my wiring, or I bumped the fuel gauge or my fuel pump float... years man. I tried lots of things. Reason was I had done lots of changes simultaneously (not a smart thing) and never suspected it was the gauge faces themselves.

Earlier this year I finally decided to pull the gauge cluster and look around. You know what the issue was? The face of the fuel gauge on the backside (the left side of the face, hidden by the cluster overlay) was slightly pinched and bulged upwards. You can't see this at all with the cluster overlay installed, but it was catching on the back side of the fuel gauge needle. This prevented it from moving properly. The reason for the bulging was the alignment holes were not right in the fuel gauge face (they were too far apart). I took an xacto knife and trimmed out the bulge and voila', after 13 years a working fuel gauge.

Take a look, might be the same problem :)

edit - I stared at the pics and realized mine are not the exact same gauges. I don't have the indiglo center that yours have, but otherwise mine look identical. Might be the same manufacturer, might not, but your symptoms match so I'd look for that bulge I was talking about. For me it was very subtle and not obvious that it might catch the tail end of the needle (which makes me feel better for not seeing it for 13 years haha).
