Installed my front mount, recirculated greddy type s, 13 psi. stock turbo and wastegate. 94 gsx.
(90 94 Eclipse Talon Laser Intercooler Piping Kit DSM 1g | eBay)

So after first installing it, i was getting on it, maybe a bit past half throttle and the car made a loud clunk, and jerk movement from front end.maybe lasted a second or 2 and i let off and it stopped and havn't gone past half throttle since. Was it fuel cut? Do i need a tune for the larger amounts of air going through the turbo now?

You certainly experienced the classic symptoms. Scary, huh? LOL

You mentioned the IC, turbo and turbo system parts you put on, but were these larger than you originally had on it?

Perhaps your old setup had a boost leak that you sealed up now and the lack of fuel is showing up.

I'd verify 100% you are boost leak free ,

Since you did order that from eBay I'd double check for pinholes around any welds and around the core , did you visually inspect it before installation ?
I got a brand new eBay Fmic that came with my 1g when I bought it , never opened or used.
Right out the box I noticed 3 holes , 2 in the outlet of the core and 1 on the inlet. I tossed the core and kept the piping , all that was good.

Welds are fine, I re tigwelded any spots with question, there was about 3. Easiest way to do a boost leak is the pvc cap with a pump and pressurize the turbo and listen for leaks right?

There are a ton of threads and videos on how to do a proper boost leak test. I like Jafro's vids because he is very meticulous and informative. Here you go:

Any results of the blt ?

probably sprung a leak and engine lost boost and then smacked into the engine bay.moter mount

:heystupid:

Umm .. WTF

Well damn I haven't thought about getting the motor mount for the entire engine bay, darn.
I'd have negative wheel hop. Gravity suit maybe ?

If you said that in reverse order , perhaps you meant ...
IC piping Smacked into the bay motor mount , sprung a look , then the engine lost boost... ? :aha:

I've never had an issue with "smackage" between a properly mounted fmic and ( I'm assuming) the exhaust side motor mount that sits on the cross member directly behind the radiator, or any other mount locations.

Unless your IC pipe is made of toilet paper than I don't see bumping it causing a problem unless you knocked a coupler loose.

Like mentioned, it sounds like your typical "bucking" due to a boost leak. True fuel cut will leave skid marks on the road and your underpants.

Pressure test the intake and spray soapy water onto the piping- Any leaks will show up as bubbles.

Took it out today, floored it on an unpopulated road, boosted fine all 5 gears and no jerk movement... and I havnt event done anything yet.

I have experience this sound and the problem with the car keeping up when boosting after the sound.

In my case was a loose coupler, I checked everything and couldn't find anything, everything looks normal, after moving the pipes (hard) side to side, I found a loose coupler.

I suggest like all the others here.

Do a boost leak test.

Finally got time to make one. What method would work the best(2 pics below)

I followed vfaqs but 2.5" tube is rubber hard to find so I had to get an almost hard plastic tube, and would have to cut it. The one with the red coupler is just my idea when I had all parts layed out.

Ha ha ha ha all you need to do is try to hook it up where your intake connects to turbo. My first one was with a pump. I ended up getting a lil 3 gallon air compressor. Garage sales have them cheap. If you cant hook it up there try connecting it to your intercooler piping right after the turbo. That coupler is going to be too big. You might be able to rig it but idk it has to be air tight. Get it hooked up somewhere and have a spray bottle with soapy water ready. If you have a bad leak you probably wont build any pressure. Have to spray everything down first or get some help to listen and look.

I got 2inch coupler but my only air hose fitting is pretty much permanent in that cap and the cap doesn't fit the 2" :(
