Hmm, did you happen to read the description for that fuel cell?

5 Gallon Plastic Fuel Cell For Racing

This 5 Gallon fuel cell comes with an aircraft style flush mount cap, one -8 return on top, one -8 rollover vent on top despite what the picture shows, and two -8 outlets mounted at the bottom side of the two inch sump. This part number does not come with foam, but this exact cell is available with foam with the part #2050D. We do not stock cells with foam, but we can order them, Just contact a sales associate for prices and availability. Additional items may be purchased separately, like the mounting straps or a fuel level gauge. Dimensions 13Lx13Wx8H

Our Drag Race cells have features like seamless polyethylene construction for outstanding impact resistance, aviation foam filling to prevent fuel slosh and aeration, and a one-way flapper valve vent in the cap, to allow air to displace fuel as it's being used. Ideal for drag racing, they include a 2 in. deep sump in the rear for better fuel pickup during launches, two -8 AN outlets, a -6 AN vent fitting, a flush mount aircraft-type cap, and 360 degree mounting strap recesses. And best of all, you get all of this for a very affordable price

So can i use that vent fitting for the return line or i need to drill a new one?
Thanks

It says it has a one-way flapper valve vent in the cap. Is there a way to utilize this somehow?

I guess is just for vent air in not out so the fumes will be there until i open the gas cap for re-filling

Maybe this can work.....

The way we ran it on my friends was to use one of the "Two Outlets" as a return and other as feed...
Left Outlet (Return)
Right Outlet (Feed)

No problems...

Thanks

It's never a good idea to plumb a fluid return below the fluid level (unless specifically designed). The fluid places a pressure at the return and causes the rest of the system to work harder, thus placing the flow of the pump at a different area on the curve. Run a bulkhead to the top of the container and be done with it.
