I am having some bodywork and glass repair done to my 1992 talon and the shop I am having do it is having a hard time finding a replacement front windshield, is there any where that might still make new glass for it, or a car that used the same specs? Obviously a junkyard would work but i would prefer a new windshield. Or is custom just the only way really?

I keep seeing people say safelite has them.
I hope so. Two identical vertical cracks in the top outer corners of mine, always been there. Need to figure out what direction to go with it before I tempt turning it upside down on the rotisserie.

Mine looks like the previous owner ran the wiper arm across it without a blade attached. And all these “can’t find a windshield” posts have me worried about it.

Guess I’m going to have to go down there in person, their automated phone shit was ridiculous and you can’t get a person on the phone no matter what you say.

I had a chip repaired a few months ago. While there, I enquired about a new one. Mine has a kind of milky haze up in the upper d/s corner, though it’s really only noticeable from the outside. The woman in the shop office said there were “one or two” available that day in the whole US, at least according to the system she uses. So not impossible, but not exactly plentiful.
Quality can be an issue, as with any parts, and I’ve had an issue once before on a subie where the thing started to delam where the rearview mirror attached. That shop replaced it under warranty.
