I feel really stupid asking this...

I was trying to take off my front passenger tire, and it won't come off... I checked through the manual, and the rim doesn't look like it has any covers... Stock 96 16" Alloy rims... WTF AM I DOING WRONG?! Bah~

Howie

1.) Loosen 5 lug nuts, but do not remove all the way
2.) Jack up car and block tires accordingly
3.) Completely remove 5 lug nuts, and tire should come off. If not try tapping one side of the tire then the other side slighty with force to loosen tire off the hub. However, not strong enough to unbalance the car off the jack.

I did that... All of that !

I hit both sides with a rubber mallet. Sprayed in a little WD-40 into the lug nuts, thinking that it's just a little locked up. I put the screws on loosely, lowered it and reraised it. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. It's wierd!

TwoLiterLaser said it, just kick the crap out of it. I work in a tire shop, and have to deal with that kind of stuff every day. If kicking doesn't work, a decent sized hammer to the back side of the tire will usually do the trick.

I have had to take a large pry bar to one in the junk yard once.......The bar was about 5 feet long and man did that tire take some serious lovin to get off.

Thanks guys!

I appreciate the feedback... Still feel stupid about the question. I just didn't wanna turn barbaric and beat my tires w/a club or something w/out reasonable doubt that it'd work.

Kicking thw top of the tire works. Just make sure that the car wont fall off a jack stand or anything while you are kicking it.
