ok..i used the search and couldnt find anything so...I am still plugging away at my TSI AWD I got two weeks ago..I managed to get the front bumper off and the A/C condenser along with everything that is in the way...the FMIC I am getting the the SBR 1g FMIC and I was just wondering..since you have to take off your front bumper support right? just to fit the FMIC on..but once you get the FMIC on...how do you put your front bumper back on if you dont have any place to screw down your front bumper to..since the bumper support is gone and most of the screws went there..so how do you guys do it?? any pics would help thanks ~Dustin

not sure I fully understand you... but I blieve you are talking about the snaps and screws under the headlights and at the bottom of the splash shield.... if thats the case you will probably be ok without them. my bumper has been attached by the 5 top center bolts and 2 of the side bolts (thanks to rust) for about half a year.... no problems even at speeds over 100. I had my friend check for me and he said it wasn't moving at all going about 60. Not sure how big the slowboy is though but my IC attaches to the underside of the fiberglass bumper... with the piece of foam that goes on it that supports/stabalizes alot of the bumepr. I tossed the whole splash shield and the fog lights, but I plan to make some fiberglass to direct more air into the IC.

On the 91' TSI AWD there is about 6 or 7 10mm screws on the top that screw down into the front bumper support at hold the bumper into place..I have seen pics of the FMIC's installed but do you put the Front bumper support back on..because if you were to do that then I would get in the way of the FMIC and the piping..so I dont know what how I will attach this bumper..on my 2g i can see how it can be done but on my 1g its alot diffrent...because I dont have those 5 10mm screws on the very top between the headlights...

ahhhhh... sorry, I just looked at the pic of your RS and thought you were talking about a 2g. As far as that IC looks there shouldn't be any piping under the main bumper support if its similar to the one on the 2g (intercooler ). I'd recommend if you can get the fiberglass piece in do it... it'll only save some other stuff in case you rear end somebody..... even if you have to trim it. Alot of the non-short-route kits for 2gs have to cutout a decent section of the fiberglass support to get the piping back to the side.

Eclipse95, you may want to look at this webpage. http://rkeenan0.tripod.com/mytalonproject/id7.html
This is a guy that installed a Buscher FMIC on his 1g. It shows some of the bumper support cutting that is needed to fit the FMIC. I also cut my steel bumper support, but kept enough of it to bolt the plastic bumper cover to the entire top row with the 10mm bolts.
