Hi I'm just trying to get some info on what would be the best way to repair some pretty good size cracks on the front bumper cover on a 1991 eagle talon tsi.Im thinking about taking some metal strapping and riveting it to the back side of the cracks the filling the outside before i sand but i just dont know what will hold up the best on the polyurathane. Also if anyone may have a front bumper shell for sale thats in good shape let me know there pretty hard to find.

duct tape.

Well, I cheated and used packing tape when mine completely cracked. I say go to a junkyard and try and find one. I picked one up for $50, even got lucky and found a red one that matched. But I would say to do that as opposed to "fixing the cracks"... they'll never be fully fixed.

One from Mitsu should only be about $200, a guy I know checked it out.

I would strongly recommend Ultragloss, they are located in Akron, OH which may be a drive for you, but i'm sure you can work something out with them because they will also come out to your house to fix it too. They do a great job with bumper crack repair, they actually melt the crack, and refill it with plastic then repaint for a very reasonable price and they'll even pop all your dents if you get something like a bumper fixed for free usually. Here's the website, I'd take a look. http://ultragloss.biz/

Is it a urathane bumper? there are some urothane repair kits you can buy. they have some "resins" and other mamterials you just apply, and its really good, and flexes witht he bumper so it doesnt crack.

Yep, I used this to fix a 6 inch split down the front of my Prelude bumper. It's been holding perfectly for about a year and you can't tell it was ever bad.

Thanks for the info guys i kinda want to repair it myself i must be a masochist or something ### i like doing body work, but would you happen to remember the name of the urathane repair you guys used? Also how did it set up when you painted it?

The stuff is like some two part epoxy that you mix together. It is sold in similar packaging to jb weld. It sets up and dries pretty quickly. I took a little material off the bumper along the crack. I tried to make it like a V so the epoxy had somewhere to go. Then I put it on from behind a little thick, not caring what it looks like. Just to make it strong. After that set up, I spread it smooothly over the crack on the front as good as I could. Then I block sanded and primed/painted.

Thanks house nice to see some pittsburgh guys in here im originally from that area.

Pittsburgh sucks... I used to live around there for a while... it's better than State College, but as a whole I think PA is just awful.

But anyway... good luck with your repair, post up some pics when you do it.

Hey, no problem! I hope that works out for you. Unfortunately, I'm not so lucky. I tore the underneath of mine up pretty good and I will have to get a new one some time soon.

Ha! Every place sucks after you've lived there. But yeah, I could never take living at State College in the middle of NowhereLand. I don't think there are too many good states to live in any more. I think it's getting to the point that you have to leave the country.
