Hi,
I'm new here and I just bought a 95 talon AWD, I love the car but its already have a problem. Last night, I heard some loud clunking noise coming from the front left wheel. Today, I took the wheel off and look under the car, check the axel, it turn out to be the axel was making all the noises. The reason is, in the middle of the axel I found a bracket with 2 bolt supposingly one have to bolt on to the block and one near the a/c compressor. Those 2 bolt were fell off causing the axel to floating around when I drive. Although the axel still intact with the hub. I try put the braket up and bolt it in but I couldnt get the bolt to go in. It look like the hole where block with something, or it could be the old bolt broken off and end piece still stock in there. Is there any ways I can bolt the bracket up there because I cant drive with the axel floating around. Please help me out, thanks in advance.

By your description I'm guessing that's the axles carrier bearing you're talking about. I've never seen anyone snap the bolts connecting it to the block before, but I guess anything is possible. You've tried to thread the bolts into the holes in the block? It's not difficult to see if the old bolts broke off in the holes but I would think it would make more sense if it had just come loose and fallen out. Just stick a small screwdriver in and see how far in it goes. That's one way to see if it broke off and is still in there. The bolts are about 4 inches long if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks for the input, that really help alot because I'm really confused if the bolt broke or its like that. Its definitely broke because I can see the old stud still in the hole. I put a stick in the hole and it only go in about 1/8 of an inch. Now, make a new thread on the hole is kinda difficult because there is no room to do anything. Any tricks or special tools you recommmend?
