These are the mods to my car. When I first start driving my car, she runs like a champ; boost up great, runs ridiculously strong. It takes me about 20 mins to get to work. My drive to work is fine.

Here is my issue: It takes me twice as long to get home due to traffic. On my way home, if I try to mash the gas or accelerate quickly (let's say to pass someone), my car feels like it goes into neutral, shoots from around 3000 rpms to 6000 rpms, loses the ability to create boost, and has no power. Now when I say neutral, I mean, with the engine shooting up to 6000 rpms, I should take off like a rocket but nothing. I have to take my foot off the gas, wait until the rpms slow down to match the engine, and then slowly give it gas to accelerate. A total loss of power. The next day the car runs great again. I am not sure if something happened during the turbo upgrade (wasn't an issue before upgrade)??? Not sure if this is an engine issue, or tranny (clutch slippage) issue. I have tried to be as descriptive as possible. Any help greatly appreciated. Any additional info needed, please let me know.:confused:

Sounds like you're describing the end of your clutch's lifespan to me.

Does it only happen in a certain gear? Also not sure but I think when clutches start to go, they are more prone to slipping once they're warmed up. Can anyone comment on this?

When a clutch is just starting to fail and is being overpowered it will slip when hot. I had an issue on my old rst with a clutchmaster stage 1.5 (stronger press. plate than stg1) and I would have to let the car sit for 20 min. between runs so it would not slip.

I had this same problem it ended up being my clutch. good excuse to upgrade.

The clutch was what I was thinking. Needed some more opinions since it is such a PITA to pull the tranny. Any suggestions on a good clutch kit that would maximize my upgrades. This car is a daily driver though so I won't need a "racing" clutch. What's the difference between modular and non-modular other than the $500.00 price tag. Searching around on here, general consensus is that their not a good idea on the 420A. Any suggestions??? And many thanks for the help.:thumb:
