car over heats once in a while

my car overheats once in awhile. im not too sure whats wrong with the car. any ideas? could it be the headgasket? if its is, shouldnt i overheat all the time?

Replace the thermostat, they can stick. Also pressure test your cooling system, make sure there are no leaks. Fill your overflow bottle half-way up with water. Use only distilled water reccomended in the service manual for long cooling life.

i replaced the theremostat less than a year ago. can they go bad that fast???

does anyone know when you are suppose to replace radiators?

E, you have the spal fans installed right? I never really payed attention when looking at your engine. Now that you have the nice big fmic on there its probalby causing it to overheat.

I don't know what your coolant mix is at the moment but try a 70/30 water to coolant mix, and maybe some water weter. We don't live in that cold of an enviroment so we don't really need to worry about coolant to keep our pipes from freezing.
