I was looking at getting a fp3065 turbo for my car and i was just wondering if its truly a bolt on turbo or if there are other things that are required to run this turbo? and if anyone has this turbo if they could tell me what all other parts were required? Thanks

Other parts required:

800cc injectors
HUGE fuel pump
AFPR
DSMlink or other engine management system
Built engine
Built tranny
VERY LARGE FMIC

Other parts that are required and you will need for the turbo:

Oil feed/drain
External Wastegate
Custom D-pipe (w/ band clamps to flange to the turbine housing)

Yes, it is a true "bolt-on" turbo, but you will need other things to be able to support the power that it will make.

yeah i already have injectors, fuel pump, afpr, engine management stuff, and a front mount, and the tranny would be built before the turbo went in. so i would have to get a new exhuast manifold for that external gate correct? or is it on the turbo, didnt think it was. and as for the downpipe, im guessing i would have to have an exhuast shop make that or does someone sell already made? thanks, and what turbo are you running?

External gate bolts onto the turbine housing of the turbo where the gate would normally be. Downpipe/O2 housing would be hard for an exhaust shop to make as you need to use ring clamps (The kind that hold the turbine housing to the center cartridge) to connect it to the turbine housing, then bend the pipe down and then another 90* towards the rear of the car.

i'm running a big16g :thumb:

here are some pics of things you need:
see how the turbine outlet is a ring, and not your standard flange?

That's why you need this:

hey man thanks alot for that info, i see that stuff now that you mentioned it and i looked on their site. nice numbers for the 16g man.

If you have to ask these questions then you are not ready for a turbo like that. A 3065 is BIG turbo and can be used for the street but there are alot of other options, like the 3052, that may be a better fit. The injectors you have will be maxed out quickley and your FMIC might be also. Keep doing more research or tell us your goals and we might be able to help more.

3065 is not for everyone. We have a guy here that has one with a very built set up in a very light stripped car and it's not doing well.(maybe the driver ) but a 3052 I think would be the best bet. They make really good power you will need a few things to get them turbo to works tho. Like wastegate, down pipe, oil water lines, front mount intercooler, injectors, and some type of fuel computer. Having a split FMIC and a slipping clutch doesn't help much either, and then add that it was the first time I had ever had any talon to the track. Talk about not cutting a guy some slack. 11.7@125 with all those problems and a 2 second short time and first time ever at the track, I say the turbo is well worth the money.
