So I'm going to pick up a FP Red, I'm just trying to figure out which tubular exhaust manifold would work with this turbo.. Anyone running the Red that could give some advice? Couldn't find anything on the red when I searched.

Thanks, Jayson

Links, websites, vendors, names, brands anything?

Jayson

Was really interested in the MAP one, But was told it will not work and I like that style.

Why do you want to run a tubular manifold so bad? Yes equal length runner will benefit spool time for a turbo, but in a DSM flange application any dsm style exhaust manifold will do you just fine, Forced Performance, evo3 ported 2g, HAFE etc.

There is more than enough evidence by member on here who, that proves that tubular manifold will radiators more head than their cast manifold counterparts. In addition depending on where and who has manufactured the manifold, the quality of the welds could be in question.

Thanks for the info, Name of this member that you speak of? I don't want it so bad, As I am running a FP one right now.. Was just looking at some options. Thanks for the help.

Anyone running the red on their car? No reviews on the FP website..
Also, Which waste gate would be necessary? I was pretty confident about the tial mvs 38 but not sure if I would need the 44.

Thanks, Jayson

There is little info on the new FP red, what I mean is that there is little data of new FP being dynoed. I would like to see some data. The recipe for the old FP red was a 60-1 wheel with a clipped td06h turbine wheel though

The new FP red has a TD06h4 turbine wheel (11 blade td06h) and a billet 76HTA wheel, so from that there should be faster spool less back pressure.

As far as wastegates go, the larger the wastegate, the lower the boost application. I would do some reasearching on wastegates on this website, there is a ton of info on whether to go 38mm 44mm or larger.

I did search for waste gate applications on here and didn't come up with much. Guess I didn't type in the correct wording. As far as the red, I know there isn't much info on it because I have searched and it didn't turn up anything. Just looking to find some responses if any from members on here that have it on their vehicle.

Btw, keeping the FP exhaust manifold.. :)

Your post changed from wanting info about which exhaust mani to run with the FP Red to wanting information regarding the turbo itself. You posted your original question in the correct forum, now that you're asking questions about the turbo itself you'll have better luck asking in the Turbo System Tech forum.

As far as I'm concerned this thread's resolved, you're keeping the FP manifold.

:dsm:

This is a bolt on thread. The turbo is a bolt on piece. So technically not resolved.. Yet

Thanks, Jayson

Wastegate size is really determined by the amount of boost you are going to run, more boost=smaller gate. Generally the 44 is a good size.

Appreciate the info. I'm running right around 19 lbs right now so I think the 38 will suffice.
I think it was 99gstracer that said in another thread 18 lbs is about the deciding factor between the 38 and 44. Sound about right?

Thanks, Jayson
