Im going to be running a Forced Performance Red Turbo once i get my Built Motor and was wondering what would be a good injector size to be running? any help would be great.. also who makes a good aftermarket fuel rail for the 4g63? also how is the flow of the stocker? is it adequate enough to run larger injectors? thanks

If you'll be running DSM Link, go as large as you like on injectors since it'll be able to easily control them. For a Red, I'd use 950's since you'll have plenty of room to tune and still have low IDC's. Also, the stock fuel rail will flow plenty. Make sure you add a Walbro 255HP pump and an AFPR so that you have additional tuning capability and can ensure a correct 1:1 rising rate for fuel presure without overrun.

Hope that helps,

Andy

What do you plan on tuning with. If you have Link then you could go as high as 1000cc with no problems. I think 880's would suffice though.

*You beat me to it Andy. LOL

Hw much boost do you plan on running? I run 660's on my 60-1 at 18psi (because I can only get 91) and my idc's are only 65%. if you plan on taking it above 20-22psi I agree with Andy and say 950's are a safe bet and will give you plent of room for upgrading.

Those 660's are also deceptive since they have a tendency to run between 700-720cc. Nevertheless, you have gobs of room if your IDC's are that low. If you want to get more boost, back down the timing (no lower than 14-16 on a stock block) and yank on the boost till you see some knock. My guess is you've got a lot more room to play.

Yeah when I had them cleaned and flow tested this summer they came back flowing between 730-750. I have heard that they are notorious for outflowing their ratings.

I'm only pulling out 1* above 5k and 2* above 6k to redline (stock) with and afr around 11.2-6 and no knock. I'm having more trouble with my idle than anything. My deadtime and global are close to what a buddy of mine runs with his 850's. Before I switched to those I would run so rich coming to a stop at a stop light that it would just die.

PM me if you have any suggestions.

thanks guys for the helpful info.. I do plan on running dsmlink so i guess i will go with the 950's.. who would you reccomend brand wise for injectors? thanks again

I strongly recommend and only use FIC's. They flow well and they've been extremely reliable for me.

Keep us posted on your progress and let us know how it all comes together.

Sounds like you need to play with the airflow sliders. Do you have a hacked maf?

Is there a definate way to tell at what airflow, how much injector you need? Like a formula or something? Reason being, I found a set of 650cc FIC Injectors for an awesome price. What are some of you 650cc guys IDCs like? With what turbo? I am pretty sure 650s can handle the 16g, but what about a 50trim, or even a gt30r?
