Ok, I'm sorta new, but not. However, I have a 'newbie' problem. I can't seem to get the fitment right for my FP Green. I've read hundreds of threads about denting the waterpipe, but the turbo isn't hitting the waterpipe. It's hitting something right underneath the waterpipe (see pics below). I've read that people have spacers, but I'm not sure if that will fix my problem.

I have the SBR EVO III Manifold w/ 38mm wastegate. When the manifold sits as it's supposed to, there is a good quarter inch gap from the bolt holes. I try to move the turbo, but it won't/can't go anywhere. Here are a couple of pics to show you what I'm talking about!

looks like the exhaust manifold sits in to far and its coming in contact with the block! i think you need a upgraded exhaust manifold that sits the turbo out further and that will take care of your issue!

If the cover of the turbo is big enough, it will hit/rub up against the 7bolt block. Perhaps the o2 housing/downpipe are hitting pan or block.

I agree.

I had the stock manifold on and it fit just fine with the green. When I upgraded to the FP manifold everything still bolted up perfectly with plenty of clearance.
I did have to indent the water pipe when I got the turbo, but that's a different story for a different time.

Does the FP Manifold come with an external wastegate? I didn't think it did and that would cause me to have to get a 02 housing w/ 38 mm wastegate, after I just bought the EVO III housing fully ported. What do you suggest?
Oh, then I have another problem, because my downpipe is from RRE and I believe its specifically made for the EVO III housing. Ugh..I don't know what to do!

The oil return line doesn't affect the movement, and I have tried putting everything together before putting it on the car. However, then I had trouble with the intercooler piping lining up. I only have about a quarter of inch to the right to move the turbo and it will sit almost perfect, (looks like I might have to dent water pipe) but moving it is the hard part.

you could put on your stock 2g manifold and put the wastegate back on the FP green unless you welded the flapper shut. If thats the case you can pick up another manifold that has the wastegate flange on the manifold.

As far as fitment goes, I dont believe that the green attached to the 2g manifold required more modification than denting the pipe.

Just get it over with and dent the water pipe. You can do it while still on the car bolted. Grab a 3 lb sledge hammer and get to it. I had to do it for my Holset and THATS definitely bigger than the Green compresse cover. How do I know? Because I have both turbos.

It's not hitting the waterpipe, that's the whole problem! It's hitting the brass fitting on the block..I'm going to keep messing with it and see what I can do. Denting the waterpipe won't be an issue, but I have to move the turbo so it isn't hitting that brass fitting.

The brass fitting where the coolant line is? I grabbed an oil drain plug to plug it since my new turbo is not water cooled. I then shaved down the plug head for even more clearance between the new oil drain plug and the compressor cover.
