So, my car is basically done. However i can't tune it properly due to some insane creep. I can't hold this thing off. It will peg the 30psi gauge.

What i'm using and what i've done:

EMUSA 38mm 2 bolt gate dump to atmo, PR non recirc'd o2 housing, 3" pipe dumped 2 feet back and FP black/FP mani

I have put in the lightest spring that came with it. Tested with a compressor and opens just fine at 10psi. No problems with the valve.
Idling the car i hooked up the compressor and applied the 10psi to the WG, opens up just perfect and exhaust flows, as it should, right out the dump tube.

This is a bit perplexing. I will buy a tial in a heartbeat but i seriously don't think that's the issue. I can't quite figure it out.
Anyone have any suggestions? Porting the hell out of the wg port on the turbine housing will be the next step but i can't believe it's THAT small that it would runaway boost like it is.

I'd just like to say: I hate FP for making that front right bolt SO hard to get to. It has 128 miles on it, used 2200* anti sieze on all bolts and i damn near had to grind that bolt off. I ended up grinding the box end of a 14mm down enough to get it around the head then had to put a torch on the housing for ~10 minutes. Yikes,if they would've made the #1 running sit just 5mm taller above the bolt and had just an extra 1 or 2 mm clearance from bolt to runner you could put your average box end right on there with no probs! C'mon guys......

Anyway, it's off and boy oh boy is that wg hole small. Can't get a caliper deep enough in there but eyeballing it with the caliper hovering above i can say it's surely under 30mm. There's at LEAST 10mm more than can come off safely. Maybe more. Results coming today hopefully. Rain tomorrow and this thing is too crazy when it's wet out to really get on it. Drifting awd on a public road is not my cup of tea ha

Again, thanks and i'll post before and after of the hole. The transition to the wg looks very smooth, i won't need to touch that, just blow this out and smooth the rough edges

Haha, yea. FP is magic! Naw, love the quality and the fit. Now in a couple hours I should have a wg that can hold the boost from 20 to 35 rock steady. We shall see. Just ported it out.

Hard to capture it with my GS5 but i opened it up quite a bit and smoothed the transition area. Heading out to the shop to put everything back together and fire it up for a test run.
Going to start out with the small spring, test w and w/out MBC, then pop in larger spring as needed.
Clearly i didn't chuck it up in the mill, i just used a nice strong bit to grind away and hit it with a stone at the end to smooth it out a touch. Not too pretty but the flow should be increased by a very large margin

And FYI I'm not at all religious! Big difference bro but can't talk about it here LOL. Looks like it should help. I've always had great results with my port work in that area. Now the exhaust gasses will hit that little shelf alittle more and turn towards the wastegate. Plus it should bypass much more air and help control. ;)

Nice bro! Now you can have some fun! I'll be doing this to my new 68hta then before it goes to use. I'll be running a tial ewg of my punishment o2 so seems like a good idea. Thx for giving your results bro. ;)

I opened it up far past the internal flapper seat. It was a must.
Now, if I had a full exhaust? I may not have ran into this. Hard to say. But no way I could hold this thing rock solid down to 15 w out porting the heck out of it.
It's something they may want to consider doin to their turbos like the black b4 it's sent out. Just my opinion
I can start really fine tuning for the ultimate goal of 35psi. Probably Sunday

glad I came up on this thread.will make sure to port mine before install.did you end up fine tuning at 35 psi?just wondering if I can get past 600awhp on my set up.
