FP 4'' Aluminum Intake pipe on T25, T28, 16g style turbos

Anybody have it on their stock style turbocharger? That would leave plenty of room for future upgrades huh...any negative effects from a 4'' - 2.5'' coupler on the intake??

There shouldn't be any problems. It's just a big pipe necking down into the turbo, most intakes do that anyways. (Well, unless you're running a gargantuan turbo )

No, it shouldnt be a problem at all. I cant believe they are only charging $36 for the coupler. Silicon is expensive. I figured they would be closer to $55.......

This picture confused me. Don't you need a clamp on the intake pipe part of the coupler also? If so, I don't see any 4'' clamps for sale on their site...You'd need a 2.5'' clamp and a 4'', no?

What are you talking about? This IS the coupler. Why would you need a 2.5" and a 4" coupler? If you meant to say clamp, then yes the other side should have one. You can find huge mongoid couplers at any autozone type store.

Home Depot also has adapters. I'm not sure if they come in that size, but I know I wouldn't pay $36 for one of FP's.

It's cheaper than the others and now fits just about any turbo you'd ever have, sounds good to me

i believe the reason its big is to match the 2G MAF. it would be weird to see it neck down right after the MAF.

Not to knock the 4" intake, but the opening in the 2g mas isn't 4" so isn't the intake's bigger size just a waste since you have a bottle neck like that? Just like having a 3" downpipe with a stock catback (the same but opposite ).

Back on topic: Search ebaymotors.com for a 4" clamp. I just searched and found a 4" t-bolt clamp for $5.99 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=26439&item=4508477674&rd=1).

Also, unless you're getting this used and the person who is selling it to you is an ass, you should get the clamps too I think. E-mail FP. I'm pretty sure they would include the clamps too.

Hate to break it to you but thats the most ridiculous waste of money I have ever seen. Those tiny turbos dont flow enough to create a vacuum in even a 2.5 inch intake let alone a 4 inch one. It never ceases to amaze me what a "speed shop" will come up with to empty your guys wallets and make a quick buck.

True, but if someone plans to go with a bigger turbo in the future, which a lot of us do, they can save some money by having a pipe that fits. Sounds smart to me.

It's cheaper than pretty much all of the competition out there for intake pipes. It works and has a good price...and that's highway robbery?

In that case, I'll go drop $200 on an injen pipe.

How much is that intake/couplers/clamp? I made my 3" intake from lowes. 1 3" coupler for my turbo, 2 hoseclamps, and a rubber piece to connect by the air filter with two clamps, so it necks from 3" to 2" for my intake filter.

Total cost was probably about 30bucks with everything said and done Unless you just want a name brand, Then take your permanent marker and right injen or fp on it, You might go a bit faster then also, as writing or name brands on parts adds substantial gains in horsepower.
