Found a use for all of those annoying AOL cds

I just took the head off my car for a headgasket install so I thought it to be the perfect opportunity to get easy access to the EGR Valve. I like to keep my buddy list close to me

Haha, those CDs are very annoying, but i don't think plastic is the way to go when it comes to EGR blockoff..You do know they sell metal plates for that right? for pretty cheap

Actually that's the case the cd came in. IIRC, some of them that they send out come in a metal tin case, in which case it won't melt. Still, I don't think it is very thick metal, and I would be a little worried about it sealing perfectly. Creative though, hope it works.

The Canadian Tire hardware stores around here have little baskets out front of the stores full of aol cd's. I stole about 30 of them a little while ago, now I have coasters for every room in the house and them some.

Well if you notice most cds are ROUND and that case is a square anyways it is a thicker metal then a coke can which most people use to block it off. I didn't make a complete plate out of it just put it in place of the gasket that was on there, covered it with RTV and then put the EGR back onto it with all the vacuum hoses unhooked. It is thicker than the stock gasket so sealing is not something I'm worried about.
