Hello everyone. I'm new here. I've been reading a lot about DSMs lately, and my friend has one. I'd really like one.
I found a 1991 Talon TSi AWD for sale at this shop that somewhat specialized in DSMs (there were about 10 of them there). Really clean, it has 150,000 miles, and is on sale for $2300. I test drove it today, the car won't rev past 4000 RPM. It feels like it's hitting fuel cut.
I asked the owner why, and he said that it had old, low-octane gas, and the car had been sitting for a month. It also has an idle surge problem. He told me if I was going to buy it, he would get everything (minor cosmetic things) fixed and get the car inspected, then sell it for $2500.
Is he serious about getting those problems fixed that easily? If so, then I will buy it. Other than the 2 problems I listed above, the car runs well (the owner did a compression test and got 150 on all 4 cylinders).
Thanks a lot guys.
