Found a 6-bolt!

Ok guys, I need some DSM knowledge. Here's the deal... My friend bought a 92 wrecked Talon at the auction. It has 140,000 miles, and is in good shape. No CW. I have a 97 w/ CW, so I'm wanting to swap it. He said I can take it for $950 car and all. My questions are... If I get the whole thing hot-tanked, and bored and honed and the bottom-end balanced... will the internals be okay? Will that many miles affect anything? I'll do all new gaskets, rings, and bearings. Im gonna run a 16g or T-28. I know how much HP it can hold, I just don't know if 140,000 on the internals will still make them okay enough for another 50,000 reliable miles or so. It's bone-stock and girl driven. Also... I was wondering if a BOV is weaker w/ 140,000 miles on it. Should I use that one? Or get a new 1st gen BOV? Thanks a lot!

why not just buy the top line engine rebuild kit for $500 bucks from www.slowboyracing.com it comes with all new gaskets for EVERYTHING, pistons...blah blah...a ton of stuff, and at the time you can get the .20 pistons or the .40 pistons and go ahead and bore and hone the block out at the same time. I just did this same exact thing and WITH LABOR PRICE INCLUDED its going to cost me $1500 to get it stripped down, everything installed, and put back together. If you can do the labor yourself then it will cost you around 500 bucks and a lot of time....and then you will have a brand new bottom end with all new gaskets and everything....

About the BOV, its pretty much a matter of seeing if it leaks or not. If it leaks then replace it with a junkyard 1G BOV (or one from the trader) and if it doesn't then use it!

Good point, dawg! I guess I never thought about that. I think I'll go ahead and pull the triger! Thanks for the help. Also, thanks to the guy who gave me the BOV advice!
