Do you also hope that your oil filter doesn't have an internal bypass valve?

Well I guess I should of stated some fact's a little better.I know there is some different ones out there the one I got from english racing like the other guy posted is not filtered I just run a inline filter on my line.

Sorry to steal the thread but it seems like the problems been solved but whats the point in a front facing ofh?

It's used if you need to make more room in the engine bay you can swap it from stock side position to the forward facing position. Also it makes it air cooled so can block off coolant lines to it and not worry about them leaking or hoses getting brittle.Had to do it for my t3/t4 3 inch downpipe.

The front facing housing still has spots to use an external oil cooler?

I understand the aspect of more room but I didn't know the oil was able to be externally cooled as well.

I dont think this is correct.

Foward facing oil filter housing for the 4g63 is from a mighty max. Since they were naturally aspirated they did not have an oil cooler, water or air.
This is the foward facing oil filter housing:

No ports for a cooler system, nor the old water cooling system. As you can see the oil filter threads are even casted into the housing, unlike the water cooled housings:

An option for cooling oil with a foward facing oil filter housing is to run an adapter plate:

Just curious as to the fact im rebuilding a 6 bolt with a 1990 OFH and external oil cooler.

Only reason I got a 1990 ofh and an external oil cooler is to tell all the honda boys I have to run a FMIC and a Side mount for my turbo I have too much boost ya know? ;)

JK. I honestly like to have my car over prepared rather than under prepared.
