I was just curious about the FP beehives, all the threads regarding beehive springs are about Kiggly's. As I understand it the Kiggly's are the end-all, but what's the deal with these FP's? Anybody use them? Is there any numbers about these particular springs? Seat pressure, coil bind...etc.

Their site says for cams with lift up to .450 and 9k RPM, this seems like it would suit the majority of dsmers out there. Just curious about these, let's hear some more thoughts.

Anything to back this up?

Im sure he uses a higher grade of material in his springs thus the price diffrence. All of kevins stuff is of the highest quality.
The way I look at it is valve springs will limit the over all RPM capability of the engine. We all rev our motors higher and higher so its a no brainer to spend a couple hundred more for insurance. Its well worth the price.
On a side note I dont run his springs I use the Ferrea beehive kit.

Once again, I'm not questioning the quality of Kevins stuff. I just wanted to find more information on the FP's, as there seem to be virtually no reviews or information about them. At least not that I can find.

The FP springs were in my buddies car with some ridiculous FP 5x special grind cam...it saw 10k rpms like no thaaang. So they work great. I know the kiggly ones rock too...but theres nothing wrong with the FP ones for pretty much any application.

Does anyone have more info on the FP beehive spring kit? I'm considering them with the Delta 272 cams.

They are fine too, but I'm looking for cost effective springs. We all know that FP is a great company with awesome products. FP has the cheapest beehive springs that I've seen so far and and verycuroius about them.

You should call FP then. They will answer your questions over the phone.

I got FP beehives in my motor with BC280´s and spin to 9K all day..I got 35R with 1.06AR hotside so need some higher rpms to get some usefull powerband of this turbo..people usually run up to 8.5k what I found.
Its great to hear they can spin 10k:D:hellyeah:

BTW Do Kevin use EVO ALU retainers as FP´s do..Can tell you when I had them in hands.. I had 1 Tit in one hand and All alu ret in second and Tit retainer was heavier..:sneaky:its pretty weight saving for valvetrain :thumb:
Sadly I didin´t meassure the actual weight to compare

LOVE my FP beehives:hellyeah::D

on pics compare with Supertech singles../enjoy

I plan on running the FP Bee Hives with a set of FP4R's.
I spoke with Robert at FP once, and I asked him about the springs, and they're a perfect match for the FP4R's and can safely rev to 9k all day long.

Does anyone know if the FP Beehive Springs are actually OEM Evo 9 Springs and Retainers, or are they an upgraded Beehive Spring over OEM Evo IX using Evo IX Retainers?
Forced Performance Turbochargers: DSM Beehive Spring and Retainer set

Cause if they are OEM Evo IX springs and retainers, then OEM from SATAN is way cheaper than FP.
16 Evo IX Springs - $59
16 Evo IX Retainers - $89
Total - $148 + shipping

The springs themselves are an upgrade to the stock Evo VIII/IX springs. However, FP uses the stock aluminum retainers that the Evos use, creating a very lightweight setup. I have had very good luck with the using Kelford 272s to 9k all the time and 9.5k on occasion.

To the OP, why dont you just use OEM EVO IX behive springs and garage builder valves? That combo would be the ultimate bang for your buck that can be good for 9K
