anyone have actually any expericence with these fp cams? From what im reading, once says that the fp2 wont idle properly below 2000 rpm, another says this, but this is all theory, anyone have expericence with fp1 and fp2 cams and how they worked out for you and what you used them for?

I have a pair of FP2Xs and they idle great. No one knows they're not stock.

thanks for the replies guys, if youre running fp2x's then your head must be all done right? Says you gotta use double valvespring retainers.

Stock retainers. Manley springs from sbr. Fresh set of stock valves. That's it. Rev limit to 8500. Run it there rather frequently. No valve float at all. SBR recommended the Manley springs to run to 8500 rpms with those cams "all day long" as quoted.

Man these ####ers came in yesterday, and Id figure they put em in some sort of a forced performance box, nope, straight up comp cam box, I mean you think they at least try to be discreet about it and play it off.

OMG they are the same grind as normal comp cams, though these were supposed to be ground to forced performance specs?

i assume you havent read the 85 other threads on comp cams/fp cams. They are indeed the same grinds. The centerline index etc is slightly different between the 2. Theres not much difference, but there is indeed a difference.

Not any longer. According to Robert at fp, comp has switched to the same index that fp uses on all of their cams. Of course that probably doesn't mean much as you don't know how long the cams have been sitting on the shelf. All the new ones will have the same index.

well thats good insite, cause i got the same setup now,and was gonna swap out the fp2s for the fp3s this week,i guess i wont have to wait for the new head anyway

I've got the Comp 101400's with this new setup I'm using. Doubt there will be much of a difference between the FP4's and Comp 101400's. Not that I'll be able to tell anyway as I'm being slammed into the back of my seat :D
