spiked upto 22 psi.. .and that was the last of that turbo LOL ... started smoking right after.

I've had mine spike to almost 30 before, I was a little freaked but it was only for an instant at a relatively low RPm so I'm all good :thumb:

But I don't mean how many psi you run, but rather how many lbs of airflow your logger sees.

Well, I have an exhaust leak before the turbo, a 2.75" O2 housing dumping into the stock downpipe with stock exhaust, and stock everything else and the highest I have seen is 19lbs at 12psi.

Pitiful, I know... New downpipe is going on tomorrow, and the Evo III 16g will be here tomorrow as well...

Heh, I was a diehard T25 fan for a year and a half, but I got so amazingly bored with it I had to throw it out. How are you guys seeing lb/min on a logger? 2g's can't log that, only Karman, unless you have DSMLink?

Wow alot of people can't read :D , he's asking for flow (lb/min) not how much boost. With my T25 I'd hit 25 lb/min at 16 psi, that seems to be about the max people would get out of it. I never tried to push it more then that to see if I would get anymore airflow out of it as I just wanted to take a couple logs with my new Dsmlink at the time & had my evoIII waiting to go on.

Ya you need DSMLink to read your lb/min or you can do a calculation to get the amount of flow using a SAFC as well.

PocketLogger allows you to view the flow (lbs/min). I don't think its an actual value but a derrived value.
Regardless, I expect it to be reasonabley accurate.

Heh, yeah I thought I was failry clever calling in the Diehard T-25 users..since we only use them cause we're broke anyways:p

daren_p, what mods were you running at the time?
I saw my 24lbs/min @15psi with an intake, licp, uicp and I guess rewiring your stock fuel pump still counts as a mod ;)
I agree though anything above 25lbs/min has got to be pretty near the upper limit of this turbo.

That was done with your mods you listed plus bov, full exhaust and the t25 was ported. The boost might not been as high as 16 but was between 15-16psi. I only did a couple pulls back to back & thats all it was logged, so there might have been abit more if I ran abit more boost but I wasn't trying to see how much I could flow, just wanted something to compare the evoIII to when I got it installed. But you're getting pretty much all the t25 has to offer at 25 lb/min ROFL

As for me, my mods were UICP with Greddy BOV, AVC-R set at 15psi, and a full 3 inch VRS exhaust with O2 eliminator, a DSMLink and MAF-T.

Yeah... I really had being all sensible and doing other upgrades first BEFORE the turbo. Almost $4000 into it all and THEN I can get the 16g.... sheeeeesh.

At what RPM are you getting your peak airflow? I hit 20.6lb/min tonight with an open 3" downpipe, ported 2G O2, K&N FPIK, 10lbs boost, and stock everything else.
Man this car sounds aweful with an open downpipe, at low speeds it sounds like a big turbo diesel...LOL

Also, what kind of injector duty cycle are you running at 24+lb/min?

Intake Temp: 92F
RPM: 6443
Injector Duty Cycle: 71.5%

Edit, forgot to mention that I have an automatic and a Pacesetter header that is leaking very badly from the #2 primary tube so I am sure that has some effect on things...LOL

I'll have to run a log and check my IDC's, but seeing as how much fuel I've pulled, it's usually not over 80%.

Well PieEyedPiper, here's what to think of it: that's the airflow that turbo is good for without risking killing it. I mean all the mods I have done have each made their influences felt. I've pulled fuel and added timing and it feels great, but it's time for a new turbo!!

Though the GM MAF is notorious for its incorrect airflow readings so that must be taken into account too.

Turn mbc all the way down: 12 psi.
1 Twist: 13 psi
2 Twists: 14 psi
3 Twists: 14 psi
4 Twists: 14 psi
Twist twist twist: 14 psi
Twist twist twist twist twist twist twist twist twist twist twist twist: 14 psi

 No pushing it for me.

No Skillz: So what was the AIRFLOW reading at 14psi? I don't know why you can't go any higher, my T25 has accidentially seen over 20lbs..

My IDC's never went over 85% at 25lb'min. But the boost spiked to 16psi. And then quickly fell off to 9psi by redline.

What you guys running *PSI*?? WHATS SAVE? CHECK my mod list if you like. see what would be safe and some type of little kick LOL

I ran 25psi on mine constantly so I can blow it up and give me a reason to upgrade. LOL, jk

Maybe these threads will help you, I just did a search btw..

How funny, looking at one of those posts, I saw my reply from back in 2002, and where I said somethign similar.. along the lines of blowing the t25 to get a bigger turbo LOL. those threads should help. if not just do a search for t25.

Use the search function, many have asked this question before. I personally have seen from 15-26psi on different cars with a t25. A friend of mine did 26psi for a year with no problems, but he was heatsoaking so it didnt really do much performance wise. Id keep it around 18psi if it were me.

Lol. I bet his timing was being pulled REDICULOUSLY due to massive knock counts. There's a reason for not pushing a turbo beyond its efficiency range. You're on the edge of it at 15-18psi, so 26psi has to be pretty damned hot.

I ran 18psi on mine with a 255 fuel pump on the sidemount for a little under a year. Ended up going with a 14b and selling it and it was rock solid.
