There is a local guy selling a T25 fpr 25$ with a spun bearing so it will need a rebuild. Is that deal worth it? I never delt with anyhting like this.

Nope. Pass on it. You can find good 14bs for 75 to 125 and ones in need of a rebuild for 50.00 and you have already made a wiser choice than a T25.

so a 14b is better then a T25 or 16g

So if i can get a 16g grab that over a 14b, but screw a t25, got it.

A word of advice- a blown T25 is generally junk and cannot be repaired. They operate at such high speeds that any damage is normally catastrophic. It's this reason that I gave up buying blown T25's to rebuild and instead pick up high mileage good cores which came from running cars.

When finding a rebuildable core, a little in/out or up/down play is fine- but once the turbo is to the point that the shaft just flops around or consumes copious amounts of oil, it's a boat anchor.

My 20 year old 13g has no shaft play:) that supisred me when I checked. 160k miles.

I'd take a 13G over a T25 any day in terms of durability. A 13G has a 360* thrust plate while T25's have a 270*. This is the reason higher-mileage T25's will fail almost instantly when the boost pressure is cranked up.

The TD04 center housings are just a scaled-down version of the super-durable TD05H center housings used on 14B's, 16G's, and 20G's.
