I am putting a motor in my Talon that has a 14b on it. I don't have my stock intercooler pipes anymore to use the stock unit. I currently have a decent size FMIC on the car now because I had a 20b on the previous motor. Will there be any problems using such a big intercooler with a 14b? I'd use the 20g but its shot...

No, you will be fine.

You'd be better off with the FMIC anyways.

Lower IAT = Less knock = more HP.

like I said... I had a 20g 6h before ;) But it needs a rebuild :|

besides the lag you will be fine i had the same thing the sbr fmic with a 14b and the lag was horrible but other than that awesome upgrade go for it!!!!

with the 550 injectors, S-AFC, 3" turbo back, and the FMIC... how much boost can I run with the 14b?

Id say keep it at 15psi and turn it up only when you feel the need for speed, Otherwise you'll blow this turbo rather quick if you have 20+psi all the time.

If you have a decent porting job on it, 22~23psi should give you the most power that turbo can make, remember though... your tuning abilities will bring the power up a notch.

By the way, on my ported 14b and FMIC with 2.5" piping I experience no lag at all. as a matter of fact I dont recall no one before experiencing turbo lag.

I am running a 14B with a 26x12x3 intercooler core size. So far its been running great with very little lag. I am running about 14 psi and so far so good. I want to turn it up to 18 psi but I think it will be too much for my 450cc injectors.
