The question I keep coming across is-- who makes a nice clean FMIC that will fit on my TSI without having to remove the bumper cross beam? I would prefer to have a short route and a blow through system. I am not fond of the top to bottom intercoolers. I have looked at slowboyracing's street kit, RRE and extremeintercoolers.com. I am running a Big 16G,Evo manifold and O2 housing all ported and matched flowed. I would like some direction as it is time to make the purchase.

My last question,

Who is better, DSMlink or MachV's computer when running a blow through system?

Many Thanks

T

I have AGP's 1g fmic kit on my car and it fits very nicely and requires the bumper support to be notched and the bumper cover to be trimmed slightly, so you still get to keep the support. Buschur's fmic kit fits good as well and requires the bumper support to notched.

The MachV Engine management I think you are talking about is the ECU+. It is an excellent unit and comes with a MAF translator built in so you don't have to spend any extra money buying a ramchargers MAF-T, you would if you bought the DSM link. Also you have to have an EPROM ECU to use DSMlink, those are becoming hard to find and very pricey. ECU+ has excellent datalogging functions; able to log aux inputs such as boost, egt, wideband etc.... you can get the full scoop at www.ecuplus.com. PM me if you are interested. Also for the FMIC kit, we carry a nice short route kit that does not require any cuting of the bumper (makes for an easy installation) only minor enlarging of the core support holes for the piping to fit through (this is for all short route kits).

I use the 6.5" Bar & Plate design FMIC by Extreme Turbo Systems on my 1G. -I love it! Installation was easy, mostly everything went in without a hitch. -You can see some pics of it in my profile... No bumper modifications what so ever.

I can't comment on the EMS though... I'm still using a moded EPROM program and a 2G MAS without any problems.
