I want a Greddy 24R, but all the intercooler kits i look up dont undertsand where they mount to my existing pipes. I have an Upper Intercooler pipe that goes down into, by the intake filter. Then i have a Dejon pipe that runs like a J down from my EVOIII 16G to my side mount. I havent seen an intercooler kit yet that looks like it will bolt up to those locations. What intercooler out there will have pipes that come up to the stock locations that the sidemounts were? All the pics i have see are routed different, but this is my setup. Help me here so i can make the right purchase of pipes. Do they have an intercooler that already has that J looking pipe that will meet up on top of my 16g turbo? Then the other pipe going up into the air filter area to meet with my UICP? Help me please. Im trying to purchase an intercooler and did searches for pics etc. So, thats my setup. I

well if you buy an intercooler kit they will send pipes that are hard pipes that go all the way up to the tb. i just got a punishment racing kit and its in the box ready to be put on with minor mods to the car....heres there kit Talon/Eclipse 2g short route fmic kit if you get more of a dsm specific company then the easier im sure it will be to put on. Some kits off ebay is all diy then send you and intercooler and random pipeing and you put it together, also im not sure if the ebay kits come with the jpipes i know the punishment racing kit i got came with the jpipe as most ic kits dsm specific will hope this helps you!

I want to buy a FMIC that will let me use my Stillen Upper intercooler pipe because i have a blitz BOV and flange, i dont want to buy a greddy FMIC kit and only to turn around then have to spend another $300 just to buy a greddy BOV to go with its pipes. Any full FMIC kits that i can use my Blitz BOV still? That mainly it, is that i want it to fit up to my 16G turbo and meet behind the air filter intake to couple with my stillen UICP. Thank you for the help. The link you sent is a nice FMIC but i have to buy the greddy BOV too then :(

well with that kit they send you a greedy style bov as well. and if your uicp that you have now is lets say 2.5in then any 2.5in kit will work, just swap the pipe it comes with for the one you have now just because this kit is flanged or any kit for that matter is flanged for the greedy style bov doesnt mean you have to use that bov. most kits flange it to that style because its popular and alot of other bovs are around the same shape.

There are typically two ways to get from the IC outlet to the throttle body. Either through the hole of the original intercooler piping (long route) and through the D shaped ports on either side of the radiator (short route).

With custom IC piping you can go with either short or long route based on your piping. With little modification you can probably keep the stillen piece with a long route because it's taking the same route. A coupler to change from the IC piping to the stillen piping will probably be required.

You can do an experiment and undo the coupler on the IC outlet and the throttle body pipe. Rotate it 90* and see if it points anywhere near this part
http://www.extremeturbosystems.com/images/2G-Short-Route-Ultra-Race-Intercooler-5.jpg. If it does, chances are good you could get clever with a short route and get it to work with that pipe. You may have to get a reducer to go from whatever size the stillen pipe is to the size of the front mount piping is.

I had a dejon (I think?) UICP for my 1g and when I flipped it 90* it pointed perfectly for me to run my own short route kit until I was able to make real pipes.

Your other (and best) option is to get a nicer front mount kit that will let you pick the BOV style of your choice and sell the stillen setup. ETS has the blitz flange for an extra $15.

haha thanks tkelly thats what i was trying to get at its 440 in the morn where im at and i just got done working so its been a long day trying to explain this is killing my head. feels like im rambling on about nothing so sorry op if i didnt make sense haha:ohdamn:

If you have the money, do you j ust get the 4" thick? I dont understand thickness or what benefits it gives you. Also, what are translator couplers? Do i need them for a basic install with my 16g ? Is there such thing as getting "too big" of an intercooler for your setup? I have an evo3 16g and want 23 psi. What should i get . Right now im looking at this:ETS 95-99 2G DSM 10.5" Race Intercooler Kit
- MAFT Option : Stock Air Meter Location
- Piping Color : Gloss Black +$20.00
- Blow Off Valve Flange Options : Blitz +$15.00
- Turbocharger Configuration : 16G or 18G
- ETS Stencil : No
- Translator Couplers : None
- Intercooler Piping Size : 2.5" Piping
- Anodized Intercooler : Blue +$100.00
- Coupler Color : Black Couplers
- Intercooler Core Thickness : 4" +$180.00
Does this sound good for a 16g setup with 680 injectors? Or should i go with a smaller intercooler?

i dont think you will need the 4in core dude. A 3in core should be just fine for the 16g on 23 pounds. plus the 3in core will save you 180 bucks which you can spend on more important things for your setup maybe a wideband or money towards dsm link or something if you dont already have those things
