Im in the middle of installing this CX racing fmic on my 96 gsx. From what I read, I dont need the J pipe that came with the kit.

Can I just try to find a 180 degree 2" to 2.5" silicone coupler that would go from the t25 to the driver's side of the intercooler?

well an upgrade would be nice but remember, your gonna swap oil/water feed and return set ups as well when you switch away from the t25 turbo. If your turbo is still in good shape and works just fine and you just wanna get your new front mount intercooler up and rollin and use what ya got, then the Vibrant ordering catalog is what you need. Vibrant has a reducer elbow in any size shape form or color you want.

good god. 72 bucks is definitely out of the question. might have to fab something up

WTF

Doesn't make sense to me.

Why are you putting a fmic on a T-25 equipped vehicle anyways? Have any other modifications?

Know any good aluminum welders locally? You can cut the elbow off of the T25 compressor outlet and have it re-welded facing the driver's side, or replace the elbow entirely with a welded straight aluminum hose nipple then use a 90* coupler to connect to your intercooler piping.

this is what I did. Took a 2.5 u bend universal pipe and cut it up. If you know how to weld its great. Total cost was 30$

wish I knew how to weld, that looks great! I ended up buying a 180 degree silicone coupler for now.

and for the people saying why FMIC with the t25? because Im just ready to drive this car around for a little bit. The 420a is not cutting it. After I get it running, Ill start the upgrading!

I always find it funny when people argue against running a large IC in a spot that receives lots of clean cool airflow on a small inefficient turbo. If anything it makes more sense.

High IATS kill power, this brings them back in check.

Oh a "lag" penalty you say? What lag? We're talking about a T25.

When I switched back to the 14B and 16G between big setups this last time, I left the 3x12x30 FMIC on the car from the previous 59mm T4 turbo and it extracted the most I've ever gotten out of both turbos.

Nearly everyone who says "don't do it" simply never tried.

+1 I totally agree with this.

I have finally got everything routed and mocked up. Ended up buying a 180 degree 2" silicone coupler coming off the turbo (talk about a tight fit!) also had to buy a 2 to 2.5" stainless steel exhaust adapter and 18" of 2.5" pipe to get around to the 180 degree bend coming off the FMIC
