Anyone convert to a floating type wrist pin to piston design instead of sticking with the press fit design? If so, what brand pistons are available?

Yes, you can machine the stock rod to work with float type pistons. Make sure to have your machinest drill an oil hole in the top of the rod. They will also need the wrist pin from the piston manufacture to properly bore the small end on the rod. The rod should also be bushed but does not have to be. No bushing just means sooner engine rebuild. Good luck.
I run stock rods with wiseco pistons.
Yup, I did it with my press fit JE's.
