To bad you guys didnt show up for the nopi event at MIR. You could have put it to shep, but maybe next time. last time i was at the shop the tube car was under a pile of trash in the back of the shop. Is the PRO class car offically dead?Congrats on the times, i know you guys struggled most of last year.

Also you guys compete in the NHRA modified class? those cars run 7.2's@191 mph

not quite as fast as shep but a way better e.t

shepherd 8.95 170mph

glazar 8.63 165mph

Shep has gone 8.71. But anyway, I'm sure that Sean Glazar is sick of hearing the comparisons everytime he does something. Congradulations!

not ripping on sean because that car is a monster.maybe sometime this year at the dsm shootout both could but the comparisons to rest and race each other to me that would be like watching ali fight frasier. :)

Fast is a measure of speed quick is a measure of time.

I'm sure that Sean Glazar is sick of hearing the comparisons everytime he does something.

Im sure he is tired of the comparisons also. Sean had an 8 second car when shep was trying to figure out how to run 9's. Comparing Shepherd to Glazer is a bit insulting to the Extreme camp in my opinion. The Glazers and Buschur pioneered competition dsm racing lets not forget where we came from.

The Pro class car is done. Without a major sponsor, we could not put it all back together, so back to old faithfull. We will definatly be at the shootout this year, its on the books, unless something God awful happens. We tried for MIR, but a goofiness needed to be worked out first, its out and we are in :D

Its doubtful Shepherd will attend the DSM shootout. Unless there is not a NDRA event the same weekend. Shepherd competes in the NDRA PRO 4 cylinder series. I doubt he will risk damaging his car for a basically meaningless event.

Glazar runs the same exact class as Shepherd and he is going.

The only reason Shep wasn't at the SO last year was because there was a NOPI race. This year, there is not. He has already made a lose commitment to some that he will be there.

I had no idea the damage from maple grove was that extensive. I would love to see what a tube 4G powered pro car could put down. Those pro compact cars are serious business this year 6.50's@216 is moving.

Edit: Rob do you guys feel Gardell and Lumus are within reach this year?

Exactly

Actually this is the first season that shepherd and Glazer compete in the same class Shepherd competed in pro street tire for the last 3 years.

You can see shep and glazer at any of the many nopi events this year. You really dont have to wait for the shootout if you dont like. the last few events should be exciting.

Yes the damage was extensive unfortunatly. Even so, I don't think a 4 cyl could really be competative. Gardella and Lummus are fortunate enough to have some serious money behind them. And that helps alot, we do however, have one trick up our sleeve, that if it works should at least close the gap considerably. If it comes together, the debut may be Englishtown at the NHRA event.

I agree pro compact and outlaw rwd/modified class are running some blistering numbers this year. Ephantis just set a class record of 7.2@191 and the PRO compact guys may be eclipsing 6.4x's by the end of the season.

Gardella and Lummus are fortunate enough to have some serious money behind them.

Very true however i think gardella was running consistent 8.0's all last year with a fairly small backed operation. I know the Glazers are no slouch in the money department either ;) does Sean still have the yellow Carrera(sp) OMG

What class do you guys run at NHRA events now? last time i was at e-town sean was lining up with Paul's Solara

I got his runs on tape....I think he made two or more passes at an 8.6 or lower. It was so great to see a DSM beating most of the supra times there. plus the fact that the DSM still "looks" streetable and those supras and FWD cars look straight up drag cars. I also go the full bikini contest on tape as well :D

Well, post em up my man! :thumb:

Second pass wasn't quite as smooth. As he was in the staging lanes a light rain started, when they finally ran, the temp had dropped a solid 10 degrees, and a strong headwind picked up. An unfortunate 1.5x 60' led to a slower 8.78@166. Not as close as we'd like it, but it was the cars second best pass ever.
Tomorrow should shape up nicely.

1st round on Sunday, so far so great! 8.68@165, and win, and enough to back up the 8.63 as an official record! WTG Sean, and the rest of the crew down there!
Matt S. also ran over his Integra opponant for a first round win with a solid 11.50.
GO EXTREME!

The only class that's even remotely comparable to pro 4 cylinder that supras run in would be pro street tire. In that class the supras are running 7-9's-8.1's and 175+mph on *street tires.

what DSM in pro 4 cylinder do you feel looks streetable?

I also go the full bikini contest on tape as well
