Hey I just bought a 96 GST and was wondering what the most popular first mods are on the 2 g motor. Looking to see more power but also keeping the engine reliable without having to change any internals. Also, like to see the car lower but not to low, so i dont bottom out everywhere.......any suggestions. Also, want wheels and tires..... what is the lug pattern and what size, company makes that look good on the eclipse.

Also, i have a question. I know for a fact that on the VW 1.8T's there turbo has what is called a diverter valve which channels the air back into the engine ..... from my understanding the 2g motor has a blow off valve which just releases the left over pressure into the atmosphere. Do they make diverter valves for the 2g motor or is a BOV actually better. If so what is the best most effective one to use.

Cannot get sound out of my front 4 speakers.....any ideas. Also, power antenna not working....looked at back of stock unit and there is no outlet for it  ......PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

PLEASE

You can run an infinite number of searches on the stock bottom end. :thumb:

you gotta do seperate searches on everything you want man. and definately look at the galleries here for rim/tire/lowered pics

search for :
"free mods" "BOV" "first mods" "crushed 1g BOV" that should get you going... also check VFAQ.com [ go to main page ] , DSMTUNERs FAQ, etc etc.

as for dsms, our cars are not meant for venting [ releasing pressure to the atmosphere ]. they do not come stock this way and should not be vented without a VPC or MAFT. btw, the plastic 2g BOV sucks and can be replaced with any aftermarket recirculating BOV [ greddy type s, or HKS SSQV are popular ] or a crushed 1g BOV.

as for your first mods, it would be MAINTENANCE. make sure your car is healthy before modding it. modding a sick car will just break it and you can't maximize the potential that way anyway. get a new set of plugs [NGK BPR6ES' and wires], do your regular maintenance and you're good to go.

and like the link above.. our tuning guide is right on the money as far as modding goes :thumb: gluck
