Here is my first log with my 2g mas, Evo 560cc inj and 3" turbo back @ 15psi. I just got my fuel trims tuned with the SAFC. Here is my first third gear pull. The O2's seem really low which leads me to believe its on its way out. But doesn't look bad to me other than that. Tell me what you think

hi throttle are all at zero....which i carried across from the low throttle setting at 3k. That is where it needed to be to get my low trim at 99%

Yeah I'm not believing the timing is accurate. Is your base timing set at 5* BTDC?

The log looks good, I just think your timing isn't reading/setup right.

And that o2 looks fishy. Does it cycle properly when just cruising?

Very true. Great log, even if the 02 is a bit off. You may want to try taking it out, and getting something like a small, strong wire brush and clean it up a bit and try a log again.

I agree but there is something funny going on here. 560cc injectors and his high throttle map is zero'ed out??? WTF That puts him pig rich at WOT and his O2's are 0.74V?? Granted, his O2 could be shot, but still.

He should be getting rich knock out the @ss running 20% richer than stock. Also, his timing should be lower, as he is still on the factory maps (since no air is being removed by the SAFC).

I'm confused!

^^^ I'm going with base being off. The timing curve looks ok, just not the #'s. If it was 4-5 degrees lower I'd say it's good.

Note he does have a 2g mas, I thought 550's pretty much canceled out the additional airflow gained by tossing in a 2g mas, thus the settings around 0.

Hes' running over stock injectors with a piggyback and 2g maf. Just because he is runing a 2g maf doesn't mean the ecu knows he is. A 2g maf alone will fool the ecu into thinking there is around 20% less ariflow into the engine than there really is. And then he has his piggyback on top of that, which particular to his tune, may be infact showing the ecu even less airflow. He's going to see higher timing becasue the ecu things there is less airflow entering the engine. This is how piggybacks allow you to base tune for injectors that flow more fuel. Thus, the ecu is running on a more aggresive timing map.

Rich knock is controversial. I can run at 8:1 on pump gas a get no knock.

Exactly, I also have a 2g mas with 550's and I had to add fuel at hi-throttle. My timing was in the low to mid 30*'s the one and only time I logged it on pump gas. I would say his timing map looks fine. I wouldn't mess with the s-afc much more until you get access to a wideband :thumb: .

Exactly!!! He's got no knock and high timing. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a water injection kit that will be going on within the next week i was going to have it come on around 13-14psi. My plan is to run about 18-19 psi. With what i have now + the W/I kit, probably a 50/50 mix (smurf piss) i should be able to do this without having to add anymore fuel right? I am still on the stock SMIC, and W/I was a more cost and time effective solution to a FMIC.

I know w/i lowers intake temps, and meth raises the octane level. So do i leave the settings of the SAFC where they are, and take out fuel on the SAFC if i show no knock until the point where it shows 1-3 counts then add 1-2% back in?

When will everyone else get what obviously you figured out:thumb: .

It's a little bit more complicated than this, but you should do excellent w/ 550s, stock sidemount and water/alky injection. He!!, I ran my stock fuel pump, stock 450s, stock sidemount, w/ an overrunning 1g mas at 22 psi on my old small 16g; because of water injection!

Yea, basically.

But, if you can get a hold of a wideband: Just set your air/fuel ratio to around 11:1 and then (w/ water injection) turn your boost up as far as you can and get no knock. But I wouldn't go much over 18 psi becaseu you'll be wearing out that 14b mighty quick. And you can get a decent return for it on ebay.

its all in. I turned it up a bit....well i thought it was a little. Turns out it is at 20 psi.:D I wasn't logging, but the logger was on with alarm set for more than 3 counts of knock.

I hit an open stretch of road on my way back from my friends house, and punched it in 3rd gear. OMG....car pulled alot harder than it did at 15psi. The best part.......the alarm on the logger didn't make a sound:thumb: If i recall correctly, at 6k, timing was at 25*.

I will post up a log tomorrow.

ah =) nice i ran my 12.8 on 22psi , stock smic and stock fuel pump , no water/alcohol/methanol or any kind of injection , c16 race fuel and only hit 2 knock , i think i was getting around the same timing ( i have 650cc's and afc so my timing maps are always a little aggressive)
