Alright I just installed a 95 ecu and ecm link v3 and now im almost clueless as to where to begin. I have gotten my injectors and deadtime set and it will crank and drive fine and even go wot with no knock its just way too rich. Anyone give some advice or some links on more advanced tuning and WOT tuning? Im only familiar with the safc. And my mas settings are using the hacked 2g mas template. Sorry if the log is kinda long but i just wanted to include all the data that i could.
Well my log is too big anyone know how to reduce the size of it so i can upload it?

This is the fun part post a log and we can help with that.
Also post what the wideband was reading at what rpm

Alright ill get a few logs on the way home from work anythinin particular I should be sure to include in the log? And earlier you requested that I log isc, how do I log that?

It should be in your captured items select it and it will go to your displayed items then select it and capture a log it will be there.
The best way to get a full throttle pull is to be in 3rd gear(manual tranny)and floor it from 3000rpm to when ever it stops pulling... mine is stock it will stop making power at 6000 to 6500. yours might like 7000rpm What ever you feel like.
PS don't log your speed people on here don't like that.

Lol I knew better than to log speed ive seen too many people get flamed for it. Anyways heres a WOT pull in third from 3k until almost 7k, let me know where to go from here. And by the way wideband was showing 10.0 from 3500 til redline. Still highly concerned with why my wideband shows one thing but dsm link shows bad lean. Makes no sense as my wideband reads normal and my egts dont reflect an awfully lean condition as dsm link is showing. Also something thats odd while its est afr s are showing really bad lean the trims are actually pulling fuel WTF

i was reading this thread and im having the same problems as far as my airflow per rev at idle and adjusting it cuase i cant seem to find the MAF raw and combinFT on my values does it have anything to do with me having the lite version of v3?

heres a quik cruse log to show you how im running. im just trying to smoth out my idle most of all .

Where is your wideband located? Is the boost estimate right?also what are your egt's.What octane are you running 93? I was looking at your timing at 2.6-3 at 5000-7000 it looks very conservative....I am not saying this is your case but if the timing is too retarded your egt's will be high and your afr will read rich.Cause it's not burning in the cylinder.
I know this a bunch of rapid fire questions.Hope we can come up with a answer
Oh also your injectors are set for 640????? don't you have 680's and there running close to max

I can see you air flow per rev so i think you need to select it in the displayed section. It's around 0.31
Just right click on this log and hit the maf adjust and it should bring you close. Then smooth it out a bit.

Alright LOL EGTs max are around 1480F but i will double check tomorrow. Yes im on 93 octane all the time. Wideband is located in my downpipe i would say around 30" from the turbo. As far as boost est goes i think its off some i was unaware it could be adjusted i thought it was a simple auto run and set feature. Timing is definitely too low because the car is much slower than it was with the safc which was throwing some retarded timing numbers LOL. And my reason for setting them to 640 cc is because on links setup video he sets the injectors for what they actually flow not what they are advertised to flow and according to their chart mine flow around 640 cc.

my problem is i dont see CombineFT or MAFraw on my display values to log them.
thats why im un able to use the mafadjust tool. my question is does it have anything to do with me having the LITE version of ECM LINK V3? and if not how do i find it?

Right click the background while your logging and go to displayed values. Should be a list right there where you can add or take away what you want to log.

Search captured values.I have the v3 so I really don't know if your "lite" doesn't include some things. My understanding was it has all the same displayed and captured features and your just limited on how much you can adjust.

Well you can start playing with it.Try more timing and watch the afr if it starts going down quick start adding fuel.

Press F10, it brings up captured values, select what you want to be captured, after that to get it to show up on your log press F9 wich brings up displayed values, select what you want to be displayed and will now show up when you do another log. V3 lite has almost all the same capabilities as full, ecmlink's site has a comparison chart to show what seperates the 2, as far as your logging values they are unchanged, it is always good to update versions off their site as they are always updating, I believe the last update was for Nov, go to ecmlink and click the downloads tab, that is where they post the updates if you were not aware of that

So I can just start adding timing and not even worry with the afrs right now? And should I advance it one degree at a time or two?

In your timing table bring the timing up 1 degree at a time in block 2.6 6500-7000 and 3.0 5000-6000.I will only take a couple of pulls to make things start happening. If you afr starts coming down start richening up you fuel table to keep the knock down.I don't know where your car is ackually going to top out but i can tell you that more timing can be added as the rpm goes up.
I would guess you'll be around 15 degrees at 6-7k and need to be some where the 11.5 to 11.0 with the fuel. And your egt's shouldn't be rising too quickly when your doing pulls.to be safe don't be over 1500 for too long

ok so i found out how to log those items and got my air per rev at about 24-26 and my combind FT is about -1 - 3% but my idle fees a little rough still. does it matter that i had to add deadtime to my stock injectors to get the combine FT down? i have them set around 510.

You might want to check your fuel pressure and or your fuel filter

Alright ill start messing around with it and get a log of what I come up with. On the issue of afrs though something is still worrying me. My wideband and dsm link seem to disagree all the time now. SO, big question is which is right? I mean I know what afr is good im shooting for 11.8 as long as I have no knock and my egts are ok. May richen it up some and add more timing but on again what do I use to check it? I mean I cant tune if I dont know which one is correct.

Well the one on the ecmlink is a EST so iI would like to believe that your wideband would be right. The one thing that is a good tuning tool is the knock sensor. If you read long enough there are tunes on this web site for almost every set up.so if you should be some where around 15+ degrees and 11.0 to 11.5 and this should work.then push it from there

Alright then ill tune some more tomorrow i turned the timing up 3 degrees from 4500 to 6k and 2 degrees from 6k til 7k and I could already feel an improvement. Any who ill do a little playing around til i find a happy spot then ill post a new log.

What type of wideband are you using? I had to try all the aem selections out to find the one that matched up best with my uego, wich ended up being the aem wideband R1. As far as wich one to believe, go with your actual widebandband reading, as the AFREST is just that...an estimate, your WB is the one that is getting the actuall reading

Its a glowshift wideband and its no connected to dsm link. Somethin I noticed this morning is my intake temp is ALWAYS at 80 degrees. Why? This mornin it was 32 outside and I was goin 75 mph. How the hell are my intake temps.so.high when its so cold?

It seem s that all your settings are wacked out a bit. What is going on with your set up.
Post another log.Did you ever short out something real bad on the car?
My cars intake temp was around 60 driving around here and it was -20C outside.

Yea unfortunately I have sparked the positive terminal on the firewall and the cruise box a few times but I didnt think anything of it because it never popped a fuse or threw a code. Heres another log too a nice WOT log from this morning. Still dont quite know why my intake temps are so high. Any way to test the IAT sensor?

Also noticed that the temp will indeed change but it stay between 75 and 80 F all the time.

The log looks good. How does it feel?
When I got my car the positive had arched out on the hood and fried the ecu.If your car continues to give faulty feed back you might want to send the ecu in to get looked at.It's cheap

It feels great im gonna push it further til I get some knock and I got some hks 272s from delta coming.in.as well as considering swapping.to speed density. But the ecu just got put in when I got link which was a few weeks ago and haven't arched anything out since I put it in.
