I recently started my car after a while of doing modifications. Upon starting I noticed my fuel PSI was around 50. The car would run but would pop so I assumed it was getting too much fuel. Especially since base fuel pressure on link is set for 37.5. I turned down the pressure to 38 and the car would start idle high then die out. Even on the throttle it would not stay running. I assumed it wasnt getting enough fuel. I then turned up the pressure to approxiamtley 47 psi. The car would run without popping but I figured since the base fuel pressure on link was set at 37.5 and that seems to be the ideal fuel pressure that 47 was too high. I then started a log of me turning down the pressure from 47 to 38. The log whihc is 3 minutes long had the timing all over the place except for one area where I believe while turning down the pressure I was at about 44 psi. The timing there only varied plus or minus 2/3 degrees which I assume is acceptable. I continued to turn it down to 38 and the timing the rest of the way was all over. when I got it to 38 psi the car died out.
Im uploading the log and you can see around 20 seconds or so where the timing smooths out for a little bit before getting erratic.
I would like to know what you guys think.
Also I would like to add, I just read and did not know that fuel pressure has to be adjusted with the vacuum line off and plugged. They say when you plug the vacuum line back in the number will change but its still set at 37.5. So in reality when it was running decent at 44 psi that might actually be considered 37.5?
