knock is caused by hot air and poor fuel. 8* sounds about right since you only want to run 15-18* max. Any more that that won't really bring much difference in power.

A fmic, cold air intake, and meth injection will help you

Im running 93. I knew you were gna say fmic. I would love too just worried about the summer heat taking temps to high. Especially since i wanna retain the A/c.

Yes 8* peak timing if i went anymore i would immediatly get knock. WOT full tilt thats it.

re-rx7, we really could give more advise if you provided a log, but my first instinct is that you need lower temperatures. That side mount intercooler is probably getting heat soaked, your coolant temps may be too high, plugs too hot, etc. -Another thing, running that low timing is going to put a lot of heat into the exhaust manifold which will heat up your underhood temps and compound the problem further.

I don't mean this in an insulting way at all, but how long has it been since you've done a BLT? Got any exhaust leaks? This all really sounds like there's a mechanical problem involved.

I will post a dyno sheet its the closest thing i have right now until I can get back to the shop. Not insulting at all. I have done a boost leak test and it came out with no leaks. I think i may have a after turbo exhaust leak close to the turbo outlet pipe. I had Bpr7' s and returned with bpr6es and it did not change. Its really frustrating. Coolant temps are good ive thought the intercooler thing could be it but its hard to tell without changing to a fmic.

Well I am about to give up on ecu flashing.

I can not get a working datalogger EVOScan will not work at all, Mut Monitor I can not save a log any more and the link to try to re-download it is not good anymore. I also can not get big maps to work. This has been a big waste of my time and money.

Is EvoScan not even connecting for you? What version of windows do you have? How many times have you dowloaded it? Delete everything and start over. There's no reason it shouldn't work.

No it jst freezes up. Windows7. I have downloaded 2.7 2.8 2.9 dozens of times each. Deleting everything and starting over each time.

I got 2.9 to work the first time I tried it I did not trust it becaust I had duplicate ECU's when I incerted ceddys 2.7+ xml, this caused me to have duplicate logged items like tps IAC ect. Then it went to crap. Also I was able to check and clear DTC's on all three at first but now they all give me an "arithmetic operation resulted in an overflow" error .

I am having the same issues. Freezes whenever I try to log. Only thing I can do is display and clear DTC's. I have put in a ticket on evoscans website, but havent recieved much help.

What port do you select. I think DTC port was different than logging port. Try different ports. As far as I remember one required MUT, other was OBDII or somethink like that

Can you take a screen shot of what you're talking about? Do you still have duplicate items being logged? Also it needs to be mitsubishi MUTIII selected along with the correct cable.

This.

I'd hate to suggest something of no help, but Win7 does some funky shit with user profiles, etc. Are you installing to a custom directory when you install evoscan?

I installed it to the c drive under the folder evoscan

As far as the rest I tried several combinations. How ever I did not logg under MutIII l tried under the 3000gt eclipse one.

Edit it make no differnece same crap. Also EvoScans customer support sucks worst 25$ ever spent.

I can flash fine with ECUFlash but I am beyond frustrated I have spent around 40hrs sitting in my car trying to get this stuff to work. The big maps dont seem to work on my car and evocan will still not work. And mutmonitor wount save a log.

I was having the same issue with these software applications not working so I assumed it was because of the OS, "WIN 7" I fixed up an old laptop with xp and now everything now works!!!!!!It was well worth the time of finding all those damn xp drivers. Don't give up dude, XP is the way to go TRUST ME!!

I'm running an XP laptop and everything works for me. I used to use OBD2 but it didn't work so well so I tried MUTIII and it worked much better and much more data.

Have you tried flashing your ECU? I tried to download the rom off of 98 GST Spyder and it wouldn't read it ### it doesn't have definitiions for a GST Spyder. How are you getting yours to work? Just overwrite the ROM with ceddymods?

I just gave away my old laptops two weeks ago dang it to heck:banghead:.

As far as my ecu goes its out of a 98 gst or 98 gsx not a spyder. I as far as I know with all 98-99 spyder ecus they are just flashing ceddys roms to it. The gs spyder ECU's fuel pump switch is different so people are by passing the stock fuel pump relay.

Oh so the GST and GST spyder have the same fuel system then? Its only the GS Spyder has that funky 5V fuel pump dealie?

An interesting note I used the compare command on ECUflash to compare the stock spyder GST ROM to a 98 GST rom and about half of it cam up YES its the same and the other half NO.

So just to be clear if we overwrite the spyder GST ROM with Ceddymods it'll be ok?

Also I just got ECUflash to work on a win7 computer I forgot to mention earlier. It didn't work for some reason and then I installed a newer version of ecuflash and it worked, its the same version I used on my older XP laptop also, sorry don't recall what version it is right now.

Yes sir. That is correct. And I haven't tried yet to use ECUflash/Evoscan on anything but XP so my comments there would be pointless. I've heard all sorts of people having problems with windows 7 though, and I've also heard people having good luck with it.

In w7 theres an option to run programs using older versions of windows. Look under properties, I believe it is there. I had to run evoscan like that.

This is what I have done in order to get Evoscan to run on Windows 7. Another thing to try is to create a folder on your C drive called Evoscan and try installing the software to that directory, rater than the Program File(s) directories.

Does anyone know the setting in ECU flash that switches the boost gauge back to stock, rather than knocksum?

Tried both methods of running it in xp compatibility mode in win7 and creating a standalone folder apart from storing it in programfiles and was still having issues. The switch to xp saved me a bunch of headaches, you wont have to do anything special for the applications to work, they just do!
