Of course like many DSM owners i'm on a budget so I've gathered up the following info in hopes that I haven't overlooked anything overly important..

-6 bolt block, crank, and rods
-block will be decked, deburred, bored and honed with torque plates to .020 over
-crank will be knife-edged, lightened, and polished
-rods will be lightened, polished, and re-sized for arp rod bolts and 2G pistons
-Topline 8:5.1 2G pistons with rings and pins
-BS removed (trying to find the best BS kit, help if possible)
-SCE ICS copper head gasket .48 thickness
-ARP head studs
-stock 1G head with mild port job (gasket match), decked if needed?
-keep the stock oil pump since I think it was already replaced due to no oil pressure problems
-mitsu timing belt with new tensioner, tensioner pulley, idler puller
-engine will be balanced

with my existing RS49 im hoping for good reliability, and since my buddy is ditching his DSM link im hoping to grab that as well...

so what do you think? WTF

Don't reuse the oil pump. Definitely replace it with a factory Mitsubishi pump. It's ths single most important part of an engine, if it fails you lose everything.

ill take that into consideration... i still have to pull my old engine out and inspect everything and that will be the first thing i look at... if it shows no signs of scarring into the case or wear and tear in the gears should i still buy a new pump? im almost certain the pump in my car now is good and only has around 15k on it...

ill look into it definently...
