Hello all. Well a chance has come up for me to buy a '95 Eclipse GST. Ive always wanted to have a '95 silver GSX over a GST, but this car is in GREAT condition with nothing wrong, and hasnt been moded and is WELL worth the price. I am planning on modifying this car (mostly performance, but probably looks eventually as well). I know this has been covered many times and ive read over the searches for this, but im wondering what your thoughts are. Should I go for it? Or should I wait until I can find a good GSX? How bad is the traction issues with a FWD car? I really dont want to pass up a good chance and such a nice car, but I also dont want to regret it later. What do you think? Please, I just want honest answers and dont want to start another GSX vs GST war. Only people that can really help me make up my mind fast and that have perferably driven and/or worked with both cars. Thanks so much for your replies.

I would say if your planing on racing from a stop a lot go with gsx. If you do a lot of highway races go with a gs-t.

I would not pass up a GST in excellent condition, UNLESS you have extra money to put into a GSX to fix it up, because its very common to find GSXs that have been beaten to death.

There is NOTHING like a AWD launch, but at the same time it does cost some extra cash to fix up when things go wrong with it.

then buy a transfer case, rear differential, get the AWD exhaust system, and various other modifications to get the transmission to fit. Its not price friendly but it could be done. All in all if you REALLY want AWD then just wait, I'm just saying its pretty hard to find one in good condition.

Yeah, I havent found a GSX that is price atleast someone price friendly in a good condition yet. Besides a couple red ones, but im not a fan of red on the eclipse. Im just really impressed with this GST, but i know if i get it, there is gunna be that perfect GSX right after... but if i dont get it... well you get the idea..

I was in the same dilemma before I bought my GST. But it was too nice to pass on. I've never regretted it (owned it for over 4 years). While my <A TITLE="Click for more information about car" STYLE="text-decoration: none; border-bottom: medium solid green;" HREF="http://search.targetwords.com/u.search?x=5977|1||||cars|AA1VDw">car</A>'s not heavily modded, I think traction is overemphasized. I can launch almost anywhere with little spin, you have to learn how to drive the car. I say buy the sweet GST, then find a cheap 1g awd, like I did. Best of both worlds :thumb:
