As far as the cd player goes, what kind is it? Most have a device for pulling it out, mine had 2 metal bars that you insert on each side of the HU, they latch, and you pull it out. If you don't have these, it will be a #@%#@%#@%#@%#@%. You'll have to jimmy rig it out with a butter knife or something.

for the fire wall thing its below the brake master cylinder i dont know about the head unit though i put mine in so i know how to take it out

most head units take there own special clips to take them out. wat kinda deck is? most can be taken out by a skinny flat head screwdriver in a few minutes

Alright I got my deck out and found the firewall. Thanks guys. The install is complete and it beats pretty hard.

I am hoping someone can help me with a problem I'm having...

I recently bought a set of aftermarket driving lights for my 1.8L 1992 Plymouth Laser. The set came with a switch, but I can't find a way through my firewall to get my wires to the switch. I tried drilling in a few locations, but without any luck. I also have a set of "cobra eyes", which are windshield washer LED lights, and I was planning to wire them in with my regular lights. The problem is all the lights on my car are hotwired, so this would leave the lights on all the time.

I am hoping someone can provide detailed instructions or directions on how to go through the firewall (or maybe there is a place that is already available?) or even if you could point me in the right direction, anything you can do to help I would appreciate. My email is [email protected] if anyone wants to help out. You can also leave posts here for anyone else who may be interested. Thanks everyone!

should be okay. what do you want to run through there anyway? is it something that you can't put through the existing grommet?

anyway, you might want to start off with making a very small hole first, to make sure that you're not drilling into anything you shouldn't be

Ok I want to bring the wire in to power my amp but I'm not sure where I should go through the firewall...is there a link with instructions you guys could give me or at least your own personal advise from experience...thanx

Also, off the subject but...where could I get the A-pillar guage mounting thing for 3 guages in tan. I found a tan one at dsmmotorsports.com but it was only for two gauges and I'd like one for 3...Thanx again

well autometer makes color matched pillars in 2/3 gauge configs.

and for the fire wall there is a rubber grommit under the glovebox, that is not used that's where i went through, and then down to the wiring channels located under the doorsill/carpet.

Route it through the stock hole in the engine compartment below the battery, there should be a rubber plug, unplug it and you should see a hole where other wires, etc are run trhough from the factory.

Try lo-tek engineering. That where I got mine.

I want to run some wiring through to the passenger side but I can't find any holes in the firewall on that side to run wire. If anyone knows any that I'm seeing please post them.

did you tap from the indicator on the bumper and send it to the mirror?

I tapped it right at the turn signal.

I could run it through the steering column boot, but that would mean I would have to run the amp wire along the back of the engine compartment (inside). Wouldnt that get too hot?

Is there a punch out or pre-existing grommet I can use on the passenger side somewhere?

Thanks! If anyone has pictures, that would be even better!!!

Well I was having the same problem finding a decent spot to put my amp wire through the firewall. So I took it down to my buddies audio store and they brought it in the back garage and took a look. They decided the best spot was on the passenger side, up under the dash towards the left (near the center console), back up under there. He drilled a hole through the firewall just big enough for the amp wire, and put a grommet in so it's all nice and tight, worked out well. Hope this helps.

That's probably exactly where I tried to drill last night....

There are two wires running through a plastic shiled there... I was going to drill next to that plate because it looked unobstructed in the engine bay. My drill bit wouldn't bite for shi* though - I finally gave up.
