hey all ive hit a cross road on a few things and after 2 days of searching im still confused on what is best for my future build!:banghead:

i just want to say that it will be a show car for the best part of 3-4 years then i will change it to my drag car so i want to get what i can sorted now.

these are what im lost on?

pauter x rods - bne alum rods - carillo f1 style rods all sound ok and have got good reviews but after reading im wanting h beam or x beam just dont know.

the other is fluidampr or ati damper ive heard the ati are a little bigger but any info on that woud go down well!

and the only ok crank i can find is the eagle one are there anyother's or are eagle the best?

after reading ams performance review on cams im stuck on what to do! i allways wanted brian crower 272 but they said that kelford cams 272 are the best? does anyone run kelford that can help me on this? behive springs from kiggly were also on the list!

and lastly ble have made a solid tensioner is this a good way to go or oem?

now i know this is stupid and i hate to ask these questions but i must get advice if you have anyother alternative's them feel free to let me know thanks all.:thumb:

if you need more info then just ask im sorry if i missed it out.
oh and this is going on a 6 bolt block

i would just do the old eagle/wiseco combo. People have ran 600+ on this combo. I would go for the kelford cams, there is a dyno comparison on the internet, just google it.

Ok so after a few more hours of searching I've found a nice piece of info that gave weights to pauter eagle and crower rods and all the info has now made me want I beam or pauter x beam but pauter being heavy don't know the side effects? What might happen? They were 2275lb where the crower were 2135lb is that such a big difference? But I thought I beam was ment to be weaker the h beam? Grrrr can any1 help me I think its crower vs pauter let the games begin! Cheers folks look forward to hearing what you all think.

Hey thanks for the help ams performance was the people who did the dyno test's and that's what I was on about! Don't don't want eagle and I'm not sure on weisco I'm wanting to get about 800-900 hp once its a drag car so if I can get what I can to handle it! I know pauter will hold 1100hp with no problems and crower about 700 so I've read so really its between them I think ill get a list of what I want then go to a shop and see what would be best for it and the life of the car!

I will be running ross pistons still unsure of compresson yet yet to figure that 1 out guess that has a lot to do with the rod's!

But do you know the effects of running a heavier rod?

Right I'm a silly idiot LOL I put lb and that's like way to heavy LOL what I ment was grams that worked a lot better when I did the math! So do you all think that crower and ross would be ideal? And pauter are only about 150 grams heavier can't be that bad can it?

The the only thing that the weight of the rods would really effect would be how quick your engine revs. The lighter the rotating parts, that faster your engine revs. But i dont think youre going to notice 150 grams at all. I would go with the pauter rods since you said they can handle quite a bit more power. And from my understanding I beam is better than H beam. Also there is another crankshaft option by a company called magnus. Go to DSM Graveyard - Your #1 Source for DSM Parts! and use the left navigation bar: "Performance Parts>Engine>Crankshafts/Rotating Sets" and check those out, they're at the bottom.

Thanks for that info buddy I had a look at I didn't come across them in my search's? So that's def the crank for me! But now I'm wondering if I should get everything from them! And I hear amazing things from them from previous customers! Why is its so hard choosing the right parts LOL. And to what you said about revving guess ild just have to keep it in boost and up the rev range to fix that won't I! I was mainly worried if it was a tad to heavey that it might snap the rod? Just trying to find out all the weights on each item and then go from there! Will give magnus an email and ask them about it all see what they surgest! Thanks for the help again this was the most important parts the internal stuff!
