Fed up with SSAC FMIC

The VR Speed 1g intercooler kit also requires you to cut the bumper support. I should know...I'm stuck on this step. And to agree with the other posts, the lower right hand bolt on the throttle body flange is a pain to get to and so is the j pipe bolt. You have to cut an allen wrench to get to it. Would I have bought another intercooler kit? I think not, LOL. This kit is pretty solid besides those flaws. Shipping was fast and service was great :thumb:

Hey all,
So after two days of modifying my bumper and mounting that big intercooler from SSAC i see the piping doesn't fit from the turbo to the IC. I see other people makeshifting it with the stock rubber hosing but that is BS. I paid decent money for this equipitment and i expect it to work. Has anyone else had any luck contacting this company? If you can list a phone number, as i cannot find one on their site, it would be appeciated.

If they are unable to send me the correct things to fix their build "kit" i am sending it back, with the drill holes already in that damn IC

You didn't pay decent money for a fmic. You didn't pay much at all. I drilled holes in the end so that it screwed right into the frame. I did the same on my ETS fmic. Big deal. The SSAC kit is cheap and it works great, however the piping is mediocre at best. I made my own upper/lower and had 0 issues.

If you want a pipe to connect directly to your t25 or t28 get this.

Yes this kit works great with downfiring turbos, so look into that, like a 50trim or something of that sort. ;)

myself and a buddy of mine are both running the SSAC FMIC. neither of us have any complaints other than the throttle body elbow being a pain for that one lower bolt. but he is running some very serious power with that intercooler. yeah the install was a pain with the bumper, but in my eyes worth every single penny.

That throttle body elbow sucks. I had the same issue.

For what people pay for the ssauto kit, they could just pay the extra few bucks, purchase our kit and be rid of all these fitment issues all together. Saving a buck now and paying $50-$80 later on isn't that great of a deal if you ask me. Especially considering the fact that we offer unlimited support and are always available via phone, email, pm & AIM in case of any issues :)

Our kit cuts down hours of install time as well as potential boost leaks when you consider the fact that you have to hack the ssauto piping, machine the bov & tb flanges flat & source mounting hardware. Our cores are designed to our specifications and recent dyno testing has proven relatively substantial gains from just replacing another company's FMIC with ours without tuning.

We also offer bolt on solutions for MHI turbo's as well as our new modular BOV flange design at a competitive price. When you factor in the benefits, IMO our kit blows the ssauto out of the water.

I have the orginal kit and had issues with the piping and had to buy a 90* reducer for my setup to work and had to dent the pipe near the OFH. I have to rework the kit when I get my car back so I can flush mount it.

I wish I had the revised kit though and I wouldn't have had these problems LOL but hey, I'm still a satisified customer and recommend this kit to anyone looking for a FMIC.

Yes even I can agree that the VR SPEED FACTORY FMIC is a really perfect fit, even for me that my car is an automatic.

Will this kit work without mods with and evo3 16g and a 1g jpipe?

If my opinion counts for anything, the VR Speed Factory FMIC is a VERY GOOD BUY FOR THE PRICE! I wish my car came with that instead of the SSAC one :(

I recently installed one on a buddies car, it fits so solid as well as 1/2 the couplers the SSAC one had.
