Fart Cans: Friend or Foe?

On my '92 GST, it came with a PaceSetter 2.5", Turbo-back exhaust...Instead of a fart can though, it has a muffler with a 3" tip...The friend that sold me the car said I should get a fart can for better performance and sound...I don't have a problem with the sound,now, because it's quiet enough where the po-po's aren't watching me like a fat kid stealing candy. It kinda sounds like a mellow little rally-car. I know I can't have the best of both worlds, but what would you do...and if I have to travel the path of the fart can, what company would you guys recommend? And who's got a decent price? I don't wanna put my fart can through college! Thanx again........BYE!

A turbo car has a deeper sound than a non turbo. I would get the muffler. It shouldnt sound bad

keep your muffler and buy something new like a timing/engine belts, and maintaince stuff, or fmic.

As long as it's not a chambered muffler your doing fine.

I say if you want a nice fart can, go with magnaflow hands down, they sound great on almost any car, a little more expensive than most but worth it (in looks and sound). But for me i have a greddy SP2 exhaust and it basically a mix between a fart can and a stock muffler (check my profile for pics) it sound great on idle and when you step on it, it really gives a great roar
