Was wondering if i could get some reviews on this product from some people who already have it. Was wondering how effeciant they were... Also was wondering how slim they were... Will it fit with a tublar manifold??? Any advice would help... I have a fluidyne radiator... Anything i should take into consideration???
Thanks
I have a 97 GSX

no one has used or heard anything about this fan, please let me know

I just contacted flex-a-lite and found out that this fan will not fit on my Fluidyne... Boo to that

If you search there are a couple threads on these fans. I didn't verify the part # but I would imagine those are the 2g specific fans? If so it seems they work well but aren't 100% bolt on like stated. I believe there is minor trimming required, most like to make up additional brackets & also I think the wiring isn't a direct plug in. Clearance with a tublar should be fine. This isn't my setup but heres a pic for clearance:

Why won't the fans fit on your fluidyne, if thats the part # for the 2g specific fans the fluidyne has the same mounting locations as stock & you can see from the pic I posted they will work with a fluidyne rad.

Not really sure... I thought the fluidyne is a direct replacement.... I see the pic and that it is possible.. When i called flex a lite the rep said he was 100 percent positive that it will not work on a fluidyne.... The modle that i am looking at is the 325... Its the one with supposenly factory connectors and a built in adjustable thermostat... Any ideas from someone who has done this setup (being the fluidyne and the FAL slim fans?)... Does it need to be hardwired?? Do i need to cut it to fit or make new brackets?? Please fill me in before i waste 400 bucks

I would consider something like this if I were you...

These are 239.95 and move 2500CFM. I have heard that the stock fans are like 800cfm each (I am not sure if this is right). It is not a direct fit, but fitting them to my car was EASY. I trimmed out the bolt holes on top to get a snug fit to the radiator and then drilled 6 holes for mounting. I used those plastic straight zip tie things to mount it to the radiator and they work like a champ. They are not zip ties, but they work the same way. They are straight and heavy duty plastic, I am sure someone here knows what I am talking about. For the wiring I just spliced into the factory wiring, pretty simple.

I just looked up the 2G specific fan you are looking at for 359.95. By looking at the spec and the pics it appears to be the same fan other then it has a little notch on the top and bottom for the hose connections, I made those notches with a dremel. It also has a plug in connector for the wiring, but it is super easy to splice it in. Compare to the link I provided above.

I have a Koyo radiator and that is thicker then your Fluidyne, I also have a 2G mani. with a tial 38mm flange on it for my wastegate, and it barely clears. The SBR cast mani pictured above provide more clearance for the wastegate and the fans. This setup works really good and is pretty inexpensive compared to the setup you are looking at.

Here are some pics of my setup:

what kind of extra bracket is required to use this with a fluidyne?? The fal fans work by strapping around the radiator is what the rep told me... How would you attach this fan without using those plastic thingy?? (i want to stay away from the plastic thingy's) any ideas from someone who has done this setup???

You can make some little brackets just like in this pic provided above. This is the same as you will need to do with either fans, as I belive the one pictured above is the eclipse specific fan. Here I moded the pic so you could see what I mean. From the pics on summit the mounting points to both fans are the same.

FYI, those plastic things work good, they hold up over time also.

Correct, the FALS strap onto the rad at the sides. Not sure if most feel this isnt enough support as any posts I have seen they have fabbed up some metal brackets that mount to the stock location fan mount points (like is circled in green above). I would agree with 2gawdtalon, go with the universal ones, as the only extra part would be modifying the fans to fit around the hoses, which is a simple fix. From the posts that I have read everyone makes the extra brackets & has to change the wiring as the connectors don't work with the stock plug on the setup designed for the 2g's (thats supposed to be a "bolt on") so might as well save the money & go with the universal as it's not much more work & they are much cheeper.

As for the cfm on the stock fans, 800 cfm seems pretty low to me. Maybe the A/C fan but then main fan is probably closer to double that, I would think. This is based on different cfm rating people are using on aftermarket fans & are having/not having cooling issues. Either that or some aftermarket fans are overrated on their cfm ratings, which I wouldn't doubt.
