what is your question?
any one have a factory painted yelow?
This is his question.
He's asking if any DSMers have a factory yellow. As far as I know, the only yellow we have is San Marino Yellow. Paint code K59/PY1. Here's the link to the color codes: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/app...nt-code-help-color-code-codes-paint-code.html
Maybe they had that color on hand, but they never used it on DSMs.
I'd be curious where Morphius (the guy who posted those paint color codes) got his info.
It oviously made it to the color chart and had a code but it was never a released color from the factory.

I have worked at the factory since 89. I can't remember any yellow cars in those years. I may have forgot more then I can remember. After a while they are all the same color.
Yeah, but where does that color chart come from? And like I said, they may have had it on hand, but never used it. Maybe they did some market research and decided no one liked yellow cars
Hey Super Sport, I have a question. If you worked in the factory, how were the Lasers, Eclipses and Talons separated? Were there three separate sections of the factory where each type was built, or were all the common parts put together and the separate marquee badges and pieces added at the very end?
The color chart could have come from different sources. Most likely PPG. The paint supplier. It was set up well in advance of production run.
I think at the time it cost too much to produce a yellow car. It was a two stage system. First body sprayed white then yellow.
Very recently MMNA had a yellow color. I'm sure it cost more too. I think it was a two stage process aswell.
The Laser, Eclipse and Talons weren't seperated. They ran on the same line. Mixed in no ryme or reason as far as we were concerned. In my area, each car had a track sheet taped to the body. As the car came into each individual station, via, the body being on stands fastened to a conveyor, the parts where installed according to the track sheet. Basically each station had parts for all models and trim levels and installed as per track sheet.
